There is always the Las Vegas Dealers semi-pro team that is allegedly has formed. Sources say, the teams owner Cerruti Brown had already met with several All-Americans — or those close to them — but did not want the names of those players published. “He’s throwing out $700,000 and he’s going up to $1.2 million on some kids,” the source said. “He’s offering a three-year deal with the first year as a team option and the second- and third- year as a player option. Guys like Thon Maker and Ayton could skip college make a million bucks and then get drafted into the NBA You can follow them on Twitter twitter.com/lv_dealersJoin a team which has no business model & no scheduled games, which ultimately means no guarantee they'd even get paid or play. Doesn't sound like much of a winning proposition to me.
If they could get a foot in the Developmental League (can't happen) or if they operate an American team in Europe (very unlikely) then I could see it as a viable option.
Right now there really isn't an option, other than to just practice with other guys for a year, hope you get a few games scheduled here & there, and pray the team doesn't file for bankruptcy 1-2 months after you start & get pennies on the dollar you were promised. I'd hope anyone who signs here would get at least 50% upfront...
I think the model which is going to be tested soon is to a) reclassify to earlier year & graduate HS early (e.g. Thon Maker or Jamaal Murray), thus setting your "class year"; and b) attend prep school for a year & then jump straight to the draft after the season. Don't even have to attend classes once season ends. Doesn't pay $700k, but at least you know you'll get games (assuming it's an established Prep & not a place like Windward Prep).
Like the enthusiasm of the Vegas group, and good that they've enlisted some "cred" guys at the top, but this would be better done if you found a group of owners & presented a viable league with a TV contract, not just 1 freelance team. Even then, USFL....

We all have our own opinions , I happen to believe top 10 recruits are looking for teams that can assist them to get to the NBA as quickly as possible, with a team that will have a good opportunity a good run in MM . Rabb bought into what CAL has coming back plus the new guys being added , they are already being looked at as a top 20 team. Being close to his home , in a P5 conference also helps . Aztecs could not get Leaf to buy in for a variety of reasons . Chase B chose Arizona , a while back , as did the B. Walton .... So I am saying that it is important for the Aztecs to get a strong run this year in MM , to show we can play with the other quality teams. We play Kansas , Utah and possibly cAL , chance to make a statement there. We beat St Johns last year but lost soundly to Duke . Strong run in MM, decent OOC wins, also helps our guys Malik , Winston at being drafted by the NBA. Those things do bump us up with recruits and we enjoy the success of K. Leonard . G5 schools do need to perform better to get the top 20 recruits . Gonzaa, Shockers , ..... are able to recruit better after doing well in MM .
May seem harsh but guys who are attending various Prep Schools or many private schools are already looking for the best position for themselves for college and the NBA .

Players of a program do most of the recruiting. If an incoming recruit finds comfort with the existing players, through chemistry, friendship and bonding, that speaks as loudly as the banners/trophies/traditions. IMHO, if a blueblood program keeps putting through one-and-done players, where's the bonding? There's no time. The players play for themselves and not for each other. It becomes an environment like UNLV's.

in the interview he said he has not taken any "unofficial " visits . I thought he had made his way over to SDSU . Also said that he has a long list of schools ,that he hopes to pare down to 10 or so next summer .He also mentioned UCLA and CAL as schools that are actively recruiting him.Does look for a team that plays D , watches for how the players get a long with the staff , not only when they are winning but even more so when they are losing to see what the staff does to get them back in the game .
