Mike Martz lives in San diego.....
Known for great offenses in St Louis....
Why not reach out to the guy....it's my understanding that he is coaching high school football in San Diego...
Just give him a call to see if he would be interested....
Don't hire a young guy that will leave for a better paying job once they have success...Ludwig did it...don't give another young guy the opportunity to leave...
Nothing to lose with Martz....just pick up the phone and call the guy

They definitely wouldn't be boring if they hired Martz to run the O. I bet Marshall F would lobby for him.

Simple text message from Faulk to Martz would do....
At least with Martz...it's not about the $$$$.....the guy lives here and I am sure he wants back in...
Only concern would be if Rocky keeps asking him to go for it on 4th down

I have no clue if this is even a possibility but great thinking. The school should be made aware and reach out as a courtesy.

I know his name has surfaced in years past.
Many thanks to OP for actually submitting a name instead of the usual "fire everybody"

I know his name has surfaced in years past. Beat me to it. Yeah, for the head coach job at SDSU from what I heard. Think it was when Hoke was hired but Martz had reportedly pulled his name from consideration before Brady was interviewed. So props to the OP for the suggestion. Martz would be wonderful.

Yes, Faulk was the one that suggested Martz and put SDSU in contact with him at the time. I don't think Martz wanted to be responsible to do a rebuild job at the College level, but now that the team has a lot of pieces and weapons in place, he may go for the OC gig, especially when he pretty much has full autonomy.

Very interesting suggestion. Not sure it would work but might be what a dude like he is looking for.

No disrespect, but we need to stop hiring dinosaurs from the high school ranks.

In 1973: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Martz More recently, he spent 20 years in the NFL, where he probably learned a bit about running an offense. Martz is not Bob Toledo, who never spent a day in the league.

Props to the OP. Couldn't hurt to try...

Give me Martz over Horton or Baldwin. I'd like the hire, doubt he would go out to recruit a lot but he's a pretty big name and should help be able to lure skill players to SDSU.

Cool idea but we are talking a champagne taste on a beer budget. Unless someone is sitting on a huge stack of cash and has no use for it, I can't imagine this happening.
