Utah shot 25% from the field and is up 1 against the Rebels. I see Utah making adjustments and pulling away in the second.

Pulling away. Utes are solid but unlv is starting to come together. Still a a lot of work to do though but they'll be dangerous late in the year. If they could make FTs they'd be in this game.

Yes, but on the other hand Utah is one of the best offensive teams in the nation and they are only shooting 38% tonight. Utah is ranked 14th in the country in FG% at 50% for the year (that's including the Aztec game in which they shot 32%). Utah has missed a lot of shots that they would usually make, and it hasn't been because of the UNLV defense. They are up 11 and could easily be up 20 if they were making shots that they usually make. UNLV sill has a lot of issues. A lot of individual play on offense with a lot of bad shots. I haven't seen anything is today's game that I would say UNLV has improved. Let Vaughn go 5-15 from the field, and when Okonoboh gets the ball foul him. He is 3/9 from the line tonight, and is shooting 27% for the year.

Spencer gets crushed on this board for his 50ish% avg and terrible form. Imagine if we had a player that shot 27% FT on the year? Oh man.

I heard the announcers talking about it and I had to look it up. He is now 8/27 from the line, so it's actually now up to 29% after tonight's 3/9 performance. Spencer is now 17/32 (53%).

OK, Rice is a lousy coach, but their players should be draining baskets when they're open. Also being poor FT shooters is even more perplexing. Instead of practicing on their own I guess the lure of the Strip is too strong to pass up.

Whenever I watch them, I don't see players that give up a good shot for a better shot. They don't have players that don't care about getting shots. They also don't have players that do the little things that go unnoticed. Most of the shots that UNLV takes are either contested or out of rhythm. Defensively, it's pretty easy to scheme against them as well. Play solid man to man, and wait until the clock runs down or until one of their players gets frustrated and tries to go 1 on 3.

Logic 101:
All teams coached by Dave Rice are dog poop. UNLV is coached by Dave Rice. Therefore, UNLV is dog poop.

I know all f you say that the MWC sucks, but CSU, Boise, Wyo and Las Vegas Vegas will be good enough to beat us.

We are still not playing as well as we can, but I don't see another team in conference that can do better than 4 or so conference losses either. I don't think we lose 4 conference games unless the wheels fall off or we get hit hard with injuries.

UNLV will be vastly improved by the time we have to play them at UNLV . As we have seen ,we have not played well on the road , so every road game could be a challenge and we do not score a lot of points . Key for most teams Aztecs included is what teams get better as the season goes on and what teams just level off . Also think Aztecs will get better if some of the younger guys improve and our juniors and seniors step up even more .
