Apparently DP suggested it even.

No player that is a starter tells the Head Coach to bench him!
If this is true, which I doubt, then, DP would not have played poorly as he did tonight. Playing against an inferior team that could barely get the ball across half-court, DP should have had a monster game.
To make matters worse, the player that started in his stead goes down with an injury. Still, SDSU is most likely the front runner to win MWC League Title, but I am concerned with inconsistent play and substitution patterns. If a Coach is going to and/or wants to let all the players play, go platoon style like Kentucky!
You have a 1st team and then, a 2nd team. This way players can develop a rhythm and sort of maintain constant pressure on their opponent. Why not comprise the 2nd unit of Zabo, DP, Allen, Chol and Shrigley/Pope?
Now, the BIG question is going to be, does Fisher place DP back in the starting line-up or go with Allen? The way Allen has played the last few games, I would give him the nod over DP. Fisher may give Shrigley the starting role. But, if Fisher does not place DP back in starting line-up next game (i.e. Quinn not able to play), then, DP has lost Fisher's TRUST.
DP has not recovered from being benched and it will take some time for him to process benching and how he wants to play for the remainder of the season. Quinn looked good in his starting role, but playing against a team with no arms and legs is not a good indicator.
Quinn is not a traditional guard. Quinn is a scoring guard. Until a San Diego State "guard" stuffs the STAT sheet with more than 5 assists, this team does not have a guard!! This team have guards who score the basketball rather than create scoring opportunities for their teammates.

Shots just aren't falling for DP, returning to a "6th man" role is probably the best thing to do.
I think Allen has done a lot to earn more minutes and consideration as a starter. Zabo might be the other option to start.

miners22..Very good post. I feel damage was done last night by making Polee the fall guy for what has been happening to the team as a whole. I see other players who screw up much more than he has and they continue in there role. On the other hand, Polee being benched is a wakeup call and feel he has the ability to bounce back and get on track. Perhaps a blessing...........Also, he spearheaded the press last year from the point....This year ~~~NO>>>Why?
