Three words that seem to mean quite a bit to the posters around here.
Is it because they're embarrassed for the team?
Embarrassed for themselves?
Mad at the world?
The team isn't who we imagined them to be, but does that mean they are just DOA now?
Does being 'dropped from rankings' become the measure of a team or the measure of its fans?
Both? or neither?
Serious question.

All I care about is where SDSU finishes in the Final Rankings.

Last year we were called overrated by many. I believe our game play gave credibility to our ranking because we earned it on the floor. We earned it last year. I have no problem taking what we've earned last year and the same goes for this year.
I believe this is a good team that's just going through some growing pains. The focus shouldn't be wether we are ranked or not. The focus should be supporting these guys as they move towards playing to their potential and hopefully beyond.
Our coaching staff is solid. We have some of the best guys in the country coaching these young men. Let them boys cook.
We get what we earn
...and that's all I have to say about that.

If Cincy beats 7-3 Tourney hopeful VCU Saturday by double figures and we blow out Ball State we will still be ranked around #25

Some here see it as vindication of their predictions. This may not make them happy but it greatly lessens their angst and feeds their egos.

It's like some fans feel they're REALLY the sixth man, so they take it personally. If they've been the skeptical fan, a fall from grace like this could vindicate them. Not sure how much, though. Still seems like there are many who don't/won't/can't understand that this is San Diego State University - a commuter college - not some big-time college sports mill. High expectations can easily become unrealistic expectations

We have been spoiled with very good OOC seasons. Until this season we hadn't lost OOC to an unranked team since 2009. We have had some great OOC victories against very good teams. This season may be one that Aztec fans are not use to. This may be one where the team grows. I believe playing Kell at PG is an indication that the coaches are looking at the team they want in March instead of looking to be the best team now. We have had great OOC seasons - it is time to pull a few upsets in March.

you were just the final straw of a long list of our "fans" overreacting.
you going to the game tomorrow, or did you sell your seats? if so, we can chat in person.

I asked a serious question. If this is all you got, get over yourself and go $#!+ on someone else's thread.

so you're not going? ok.
keep creating garbage polls under the guise of a 'serious question'.
they've lost a couple games, big deal, it's december... you and all your fellow 'fans' need to try and find a perfect team to support, that'll make you happier. good luck with that by the way.

MZM,
Not my business but it seems you are misunderstanding Jr.'s intent. I am normally on the other side of most of his takes but here he is questioning the fan's expectations not so much the team. Fans expect too much from the team and too much from incoming freshman because of all the hype. SDSU is not Duke or UNC. Fall from grace was just a phrase used. Anyway, that's all I got on this.

Fall from grace may have been just a phrase, but he also used "The team isn't who we imagined them to be...". again, just never ending garbage!

Early season rankings are based on two things, what the team did last year(see Shepard's post game remark), and the new recruits. Time for this team to create their own identity. Time for the team to decide you they are going to follow, time for the leader or leaders to step up.

I would hope that this isn't some kind of veiled threat. I know that sometimes board members will disagree strongly about certain topics, but let's not go there if that's the case. If it's not (a veiled threat), just make that clear so that no one will misunderstand. In the end, we're ALL Aztec fans, and we all want our teams to do well.

Living in ACC territory, I laugh out loud when Aztec fans hit panic mode in December. Noobs.
