... would be deserved but if the AP or Coaches keep them in, that would be major respect usually reserved for the 3 loss bluebloods.

Seriously, you guys take this not winning to Ridiculous levels. We're not going undefeated. For Christ sakes, it was a road game and it might not be the only lost one on the road.
And believe it or not there might be a loser at home. The offense sucks, defense is damn good. That's how you win play crazy defense that leads to fast breaks and bunnies to get fouled on.
If it came down to talent alone UNLV would probably only lose 1 or 2 conference games this year, but you know with all these freshman..
Aztecs need a freakin point guard.
And SDSU will be lucky to be at 25 on Monday

They don't deserve to be ranked. If they can get their ish together then maybe, but wow, there is no team right now. Just a group of individuals hacking at the ball on offense. Sadly, I must agree. I think we can agree that Cincinnati, a good but not great team, made important adjustments in the final 10 minutes or so of the first half and upped their game. They played really well for 3/4 of the game and definitely deserved to win. We were very fortunate to have gone into overtime. In OT, the team looked really bad. I, too, think that this is simply not a coherent team at this point. Lots of good players, including some who may well become stars in a year or two. But right now they seem disorganized. Fish and his staff have a lot of teaching to do. AzWm

No way this team drops out of the top 25. This team may have been over-hyped to begin the season (which I believe to be true) with so much uncertainty in leadership, but they are still the best defensive team in the nation. Like the announcers said, the game wasn't pretty, but you have to respect the level of defense the Aztecs play. A lot of media folks mistake a good defensive team because everyone seems to love scoring. There is 2 sides to the game and the Aztecs play the flip side better than anyone. Once this team figures out some of the roles & leadership this team will be a hot commodity. Think about it, given all the question marks this early, they still only lost to AZ by a bucket and lost to Cincy in overtime at their place. The only true loss was the pitiful shooting performance in Washington, and if they shot their average of 38%~40%, they would/could have won that also. I think everyone that believed the media hype just got a dose of reality. This team is very capable of going on a 15 game win streak right now and I think they will do that and more. This team could very well be 26-4 come March, that will be a 3/4 seed for sure. Maybe, maybe not. Looks like we will finish non-conference play with a 9-3 record. As for MWC games, I just can't see this team equaling, or perhaps even coming close to, last year's record of 16-2. Based on the strength of the team at present, I expect several more loses. Let's say 14-4. That would be 23-7. If we suffer a loss in any of the MWC tournament games, our seeding will drop. The question is, how much can this team improve in the next few games? I do think the potential is there. We now know how much the loss of X has hurt the team. AzWm

I wouldnt go far as costing us a seed or two, maybe NIT but this year MWC is a one bid team and it is whomever wins the MWC tourney unless someone gets ranked and stay there for the duration of the season. I hope its not us or we will lose that ranking the very next game. Winner of the conference regular season is also going dancing.

If VCU beats up Cincy we won't be ranked for a while if ever. scores.espn.go.com/ncb/conversation?gameId=400586739

A number of things worry me. One, of course, is that we can't shoot very well, and certainly not 3s, at least not consistently. But the team's reaction to the press in the last minutes of the first half was really worrisome. Lots of turnover. I'm thinking of something else, something that some may call making excuses. Why were we playing in Cincinnati in late December? Or for that matter, why ever? Playing at Colorado or Tulsa or UTEP I can see. But with Washington on our schedule, plus Maui, why make the guys fly almost all the way across the country? Cincy is usually pretty good, so a win against them would be important. But I think it was just too much. In any case, did we really need to play this game? Wasn't our non-conference schedule tough enough without the long trip? And to make things worse, I understand that there was no direct flight. Shades of Laramie. Looks as if this may be our worst team in half a decade. . . or more. Not a bad team, but certainly one with lots of good players who so far are not living up to expectations. I no longer think winning the MWC is a foregone conclusion. Maybe even the NCAA tournament is in doubt. So many rough edges at this time. Maybe the team will jell with a few more games played. I am not panicking, not by any means. But at this point I'd say it's a work in progress . . . very slow progress. AzWm AzWm, I am concerned with this team also. Many of those turnovers were due to absolutely horrendous passes. My grandmother could pass better than this team has shown, and she has been dead for 26 years! I do have faith in Fisher, and his staff that they will get things cleaned up. With this loss they may drop out of the Top 25, or go to #23/#24. We'll see, and I think the main reason Fisher scheduled this game was to get more attention by the East coast media, so they wouldn't forget about us on the left coast. Obviously, that backfired! Also, with the many new people playing this year it does take some time to get all the kinks worked out, but I believe they will by tournament time.

No question out of the top 25. Can't beat 2 unranked, middle of the pack teams like Washington and Cincinnati. Probably not a bad thing though. Unlike the teams over the past 5 years, this team apparently can't handle the pressure of playing with a number next to their name.... Washington is ranked how are they middle of the pack..?
