My Crystal ball says that only an idiot would make a claim as you did saying that you've never seen anybody regress so much after only seeing a THIRD of the season. You're a typical fan who probably was in the band and never played sports. Those are the types that say those things after only a third. Horrible. Typical douche-bag going off on people they know nothing about. I was never in the band and I'm a semi-professional marathon runner (as in I make part of my living from it). I would love to know what your great athletic achievements are, I'm waiting on pins and needles. Oh, and how much money have you made from participating in a sport? It's just a wild guess, but I've gotta think it's quite a bit less than me. So I don't want to get involved in your tiff with john (because honestly, it's kind of comical) but I am more than a bit curious as to what your fastest marathon time is? half? 10,000? Where did you go to college? Certainly not State. So what local high school did you go to? Mt Carmel??? =) (btw, I wouldn't expect a seasoned distance runner to engage in a lowest common denominator type argument.)

I went to a high school Ventura County. I was on the team when we finished 2nd at the division 1 state championship (cross country). I could have probably run at a division 2 or 3 school but knowing that running wouldn't be my career went to UCSB instead because they had the academic program I was looking for. Best marathon time is 2:29, half marathon 1:11, not totally sure what I could do best at the 10k since I've never trained specifically for it.

You didn't run at UCSB... maybe you should have. Good luck in your running career going forward! (And do your best to stay out of goofy internet arguements!=) Btw, I have known quite a few non-athletic distance runners in my day... of course, there are many who are athletic, especially those who have run the steeple. I have also known many non-athletic baseball players too!
