Gonzaga does not play D as well as the Aztecs. However, they are much more fluid & efficient offensively.

IMO, Gonzaga are paper tigers year in and year out,until proven otherwise. Every year they look like perennial world beaters during the regular season. Then, come tournament time, they look like the best team in the NCAA Tournament in the round of 64. Then, in the round of 32, they flame out. Same trend has happened the past 5 years or so. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for their program and everything they have accomplished. 14 conference titles in the past 16 years is very impressive, as well is their 16 straight NCAA Tournaments. However, until they get over the hump by getting to the final 4, or @ the very least the sweet 16 or elite 8, I continue to have my reservations concerning them. With that said, my tone will change, however, if they end up beating Arizona. I agree with you on the Zag recent history. I think they are usually a bit thin, and unable to play several tough teams back to back to back. I love Gary Bell's game. Pangos is good also. I thought they were seniors when I saw them at Viejas last season. Still, I am rooting for the Cats. Agreed. Pangos and Bell are very talented back court players and they have a talented front court as well. They have all the makings of a legitimate Final 4 squad. I'm ,however, just going off recent history, which I understand doesn't have to do with this season. I too am pulling for cats. Will be good for rpi purposes. |
