I see a lot of last years team. No inside game at all. Poor three point shooting. Poor free throw shooting. No ball movement. Didn't see one pick and roll. Yes we have a lot of good athletes but they just haven't jelled. I think Fish is going to narrow this down to eight that play. To have some consistently. And what has been said before we need to find a point guard that can run and control this offense. Shep to me looks like he hasn't improved at all. Polee not sure what is wrong with him but he has regressed. jJO still cant make a layup. Chol looks like he can be good but gets into foul trouble a lot to stay on the court. DaKari needs to be in the court more. Pope needs to trust his legs. Kell and Zabo are still young but I like Kells guts and offensive game, I think he is starting to believe he can play at this level and the nerves are being lessened. Why is Williams not playing I think he transfers after this year.

Winston hasn't improved at all??? You either haven't watched him play this year or you didnt see him play the past 2 years. Him, AQ and Trey are our best players right now. Arizona wasn't ranked #3 for no reason, they're a very good team and it showed tonight. Their size seem to really bother JJ and Sky tonight but they went up against one of the best front courts in college basketball so I'm not too surprised. We need better play from Polee and we have to shoot better from the free throw line, outside of that im not too concerned with where SDSU is at right now.

Polee needs to stop getting his shot blocked.

Dwayne is in an absolute mental fog. He is so much better off the bench as the defensive dynamo and the sparkplug than in a starter's role. He got his three blocked TWICE tonight. A frustrating loss, but I think we are seeing the evolution of Winston and Trey. I have no doubts we will see the Cats again in the postseason.

A lot of #hotsportstakes here. Jesus, can't we be happy that we almost beat #3 team in the country?
We played well. We lost to a better team.

I think this team is farther along right now then we were last year and we are without one of our rotation players and easing a player in. I have no idea why Polee is playing so poorly and don't cop it out as he is better off the bench. He is doing stupid stuff and missing wide open catch and shoot threes, this has nothing to do with starting or coming off the bench it has to do with him playing poorly.

If two weeks ago you knew we were going to be 5-1 coming home from Maui, most of us would be VERY happy. I'll take it!

Big difference to me is REBOUNDING. We've been spoiled the past 5 years with Kawhi, JF, and Josh Davis. All brought a rebounding fire this team lacks, especially on the defensive end. Sky is a shot blocking machine but that gives up rebounding which davis grabbed last year. Our best bet for boards from what I see is Shepard and Allen.

The team will fine. Calm down. It's the start of a long season.

Polee leaks out way too much, the team isn't good enough on the defensive glass to let him do that.

We are a very good team (easily top 15 in the nation) and can make a FF run. Our biggest issue is on the glass, particularly D; I think a lot of it comes from having only one true post defender on the floor, and he usually is going after blocks. Obviously FTs can be a problem, but on avg we are not leaving that many points on the line per game.
Our offense is better than initial reports, and our defense is still tremendous. I like our freshman so far.

A lot of #hotsportstakes here. Jesus, can't we be happy that we almost beat #3 team in the country? We played well. We lost to a better team. I understand where you're coming from but I will no longer allow myself to be happy just because we were close, as a program I think we're passed that stage. I can't say Arizona is a better team, I can say Arizona played better tonight. As a fan and hopefully the players feel the same, the sweetness of a moral victory shouldn't be as bitter as losing the game. We should be disappointed that we lost to a team tonight we could of beat. Now obviously that doesn't mean we should just start trash talking every player on the team(Like some are doing JJ and Sky tonight) but it's okay not to be happy about a lost to a very good team. We will get better and if we see them again come tournament time, I expect us to beat them.

I think being in the starting line up and expected to help fill the scoring void left by Thames is in his head. He's put to much pressure on himself. That being said he was good in the early going tonight.

Of course i would love to go undefeated every year and win the national championship but let's be realistic.
The reason we may not have looked perfect is because of AZ. There is a reason they are #3. We lost because of them, not because we beat ourselves. Yes we could have made more free throws but we also aren't a good FT shooting team.

If some on this board are not happy with being a top 15 team, they should go root for Kentucky. Then your expectations will actually make sense.
