I dont see scoring being as much of a problem as others had thought. In fact our only major issue so far I can see is defensive rebounding. Part of it is our willingness to go after blocks, which at times is an okay trade off.
Still, seems like we are missing that Josh Davis like presence (our opponents are pulling over 37% ORB%). Do ya'll think Cheatham can be of assistance here sometime soon, or will someone else step up?

Utah and Pitt beat us on the boards, offensive and defensive. U of A is skilled, fast and strong, I think well see Chol and Sky at the same time + I am hoping we see a few more minutes for Malik.
Our weakness is our rebounding; however Shep has stepped it up. We do miss Josh Davis, so far no one has filled his shoes.

I still feel like theres a chance Z redshirts because of all the talent and how deep our lineup already is. He is an absolute freak athletically and I cant wait to see him on the floor but it might not make sense this year if he takes too long to come back.

I agree with you, but I think it will come down to whether he and our staff think he is a 4-5 year player or a 2-3 year player... If he's good enough to go pro early, which I think the talent is obviously there, it might make sense to come in and get his feet wet wherever possible, a la Jamaal.

Yep, pretty sure Fisher will do what he usually does - Give the player the information to make his own decision instead of deciding for him.

I don't see him wanting to redshirt. First, he is going to play professionally somewhere, there are other leagues than the NBA (not that I'm saying he doesn't have a chance to play in the NBA). Redshirting puts another year in between him and a paycheck. Second, redshirting takes away his ability to transfer should things not work out here for him (which is unlikely, though).

as you point out we have been better offensively this year at PF /C then last year but not on the boards . This is where JJ needs to step up . Chol has also added more scoring in the post . Arizona has a very strong C / PF duo down low - Aztecs will need to neutralize them if we hope to hang with Arizona . They are both hoping to go to the NBA and have size .They also added a center from Europe recently. Cheatham was a good player in HS but did not play against much competition and guys his size or what he will play against in college . He was a top 100 player but not top 25 or 50 . It will take time for him to get up to going at it full speed , he has not played since the spring/summer . He is at a position we need help PF so we will see . He can always start out as he is now Red Shirt Medical and the coaches & he can pull it at any time if they want to both have to agree to the red shirt . Believe he is 6'7" ,do not think he has grown much since senior HS . Would guess for NBA he may need to slide over to SF , so will need to develop those skills , how long that takes So we will see.

I hope Fisher goes to the 1-3-1 zone after the first TV timeout of the second half [that way Miller can't plan during halftime] and stays with it the entire game if effective. In the Tournament last year, Fisher went to the 1-3-1 zone, Miller immediately calls a timeout and then Fisher does not keep the 1-3-1 zone. Had Fisher stayed with the 1-3-1 zone, the outcome of that game may well have been different.
