Vegas is out of Southern California, also a huge BYU fan contingent there and closer for BYU to travel to. Who cares about BYU? We are the power player in this couple. Anaheim could get a large BYU contingent. They are not just pulling from their home area. You do realize Coach Fisher and Coach Rice are really good friends right? Like there is no bad blood between the staffs. If you think SDSU could strong arm BYU into doing anything you're delusional.

Fine. Don't do it. I think BYU wants this more than the Aztecs. We don't need them. Anaheim would be great for them. Las Vegas would be an advantage for them. They have trouble getting home and home games due to their elevation/style advantage. We have been getting some great home and home games. I would be fine never playing them again. But if we do play, we should never go into that cheating place.

One thing for sure, we sure want competitive teams to play in the OOC, and they have a style we should probably face early on.

If we ever play them when it really counts, it will be at a neutral court. We don't need to practice at elevation. We get enough of that (too much) in conference. No need to accept it OOC. We have a better chance of winning at Arizona or Kansas (and cheating) than at BYU because of style and elevation. We can also fill a Honda Center type arena and have TV rights. So why not? Why give CBS/ESPN/MWC money that is ours by right? Kansas comes here and we get nothing for it while our TV partners make out like bandits. We are under no obligation to allow that to happen. BYU would be happy with rebroadcast rights and a chance to give So Cal Mormons a great game. 233,000 mormons live in the Los Angeles-Riverside-Orange County in 2000. www.thearda.com/mapsReports/reports/metro/4472_2000.asp

This is a long standing bitter rivalry that has produced some great games in various sports. Yes it's one sided but it still should continue on a yearly basis.
