59- 46 Aggies taking it to the Lobos 4:56 left
Aggies bench at one point has out scored the Lobos bench by 30. I'm sure it's gone up. New Mexico bigs are not smooth with the ball.
61-46 now

Maybe Rudolph can come up with something to help Ralphie… a red nose perhaps?

They suck, I suggest people stop tracking them. Stick a fork in them.

Kirk shoulda stuck around. I'm guessing that he knew what was to come.

UNM was not going to replace their three best players as quickly as their fans had hoped . Goodman a top JC player is coming off an injury , then they lose Neal . They are not going to be able to bring in top HS recruits , so will rely on transfers or out of the country players . Transition year for them but still play in a weak MW,so they did not schedule much for OOC .Will rely on beating SDSU for their good win. Texas A & AM added two players for this T . They were not injured but just got cleared to play . Someone explain this ?

I'm definitely no Lobo fan, but I wouldn't count them out. They lost a lot, but still have plenty of talent to compete, as well as a marked home court advantage. They are still a threat (for 2nd )

They are still a threat (for 2nd ) They now have a bench with zero NCAA experience. They were very thin at experienced players to begin the season. Thy also will start 2 players with zero NCAA experience. They could not afford injuries. They have 2 players out for an extended period. It will not be a happy OOC for the Lobos. Texas A&M was picked 9th in the SEC. Boston College was picked last in the ACC. They next play USC, the worst team in the PAC-12. They will likely only play 1 team with a winning record OOC - New Mexico State. If they come into conference with a losing record that could mean an RPI in the 200s. Something they haven't seen in the long time.

They are still a threat (for 2nd ) I don't think so. I don't see this "talent". They return only 1 player who played full time. That is Greenwood. Greenwood never had to assert himself on the court. He has always played with 4 players better then himself. It is easy to shot when you want to and have the defense concentrate on others. When he becomes the focus of defenses and must make something happen, let's see what happens. He may come through and excel but that is far from certain. The rest of the team is untested. Delanely and Neal played half time last year and enjoyed the same status as Greenwood when on the court - a 4th or 5th option. The others have zero or practically zero NCAA minutes. CSU, BSU, and Wyoming have far better and more experienced players.

I think the Lobos know the slide was coming for them as they fought and lost for recruit Zylan Cheatham . He was going to be their future and get major PT . He chose the Aztecs / team potential for MM over "PT Stardom as a Lobo" . Lobos did get the JC transfer in his place Goodson ? Also believe the Lobos coach looked at his team for this year , put together a soft OOC schedule hoping the team can get as many wins as they can over low to average teams . Then finish some where in the middle of MW depending on the progress of CSU, BSU , Wyoming , UNLV . and maybe bid to NIT? To me going forward to compete nationally and build a solid program you need at least 2 top 100 HS recruits. The Lobos may not be able to accomplish that , may rely on getting JC's guys or some lower rated HS recruits with a high ceiling . Or guys from Australia . None of us know how much any team will from their OOC , our concern is how the Aztecs do and I think even we are going to be so much stronger later in the year , plus have a good bench . Lobos and others who knows . Think the Zylan Cheatham signing was a message to both SDSU and Lobos . Thank you to our coaches for sealing the deal and Zylan for the ability to make what we all think is a good decision for him and the Aztecs.

They are still a threat (for 2nd ) For second.. Hell no. You better start paying attention to Wyoming. They are legit and will have the MWC player of the year. Sidenote - I was looking up their box score and then checking out the comments in the ESPN section.. Some of their fans actually believe they will win MW tourney and get into the NCAA's that way. That scrub team is not winning that tourney with the roster that they have.

I love that they still wouldn't want Shepard on their team. Although he hasn't developed offensively as I had hoped, he would be a defensive nightmare for us. Glad he is with us.
