Everything is telling me to root for Fresno, but still not sure. This will be 2 years in a row the Aztecs missed the championship game by 4th quarter coaching collapses. Playing the extra game on CBS would be awesome. The Aztecs are not dead yet. I would put my money on UNLV having a better chance to beat Nevada....this rivalry games are always unpredictable (oregon/oregon st, Arizona/Arizona St. are always close no matter the records). Vegas/Reno no different.
At best Fresno can be 6-6, if we finish 7-5 we won't get overlooked for a bowl. We have some exciting players the the Ponto Bowl would love to have. SDSU/Navy.....again

When Fresno plays Nevada who should Aztec fans root for ? I attended both. They both suck for reasons that supersede athletics. That means I have no preference.

Right now we have momentum toward the Poinsettia Bowl and a rematch with Navy which attendance wise should be the best option for the bowl committee. It seems to me that Hawaii will have a better chance of beating Fresno State than UNLV has of upsetting Nevada, so I think it best to pull for the Bulldogs in this one. It is a longshot of course, but if all falls into place, the Aztecs could find themselves getting the nod and playing in the conference championship game where the Las Vegas Bowl is the prize for the winner. If we went to that game and lost, it seems to me the Poinsettia Bowl would still be the best option if for no other reason that the chance of making rather than losing money in going to these lesser bowls.

We have virtually no hope of being in the conf. championship. Maybe slightly better hope for UNR winning and then losing @ UNLV. But, HAH, that won't happen either. What are the chances of Fresno losing at home to Hawaii next week?

What are the chances of Fresno losing at home to Hawaii next week? Slim and none. Prefer Nevada to win because we would be guaranteed a bowl with Wyoming losing big time to Boise State. Also think UNLV would be motivated to beat Nevada more than Hawaii over Fresno.

What are the chances of Fresno losing at home to Hawaii next week? UNLV beating us wasn't supposed to happen last year either. Weird stuff happens at Sam Boyd and Nevada has been less than consistent on the road.

I'm certainly not counting on it but the planets could somehow align to make every bounce and call go Hawaii's way next Saturday at Fresno. But if that doesn't happen, you're correct that Fresno will trip all over itself at Boise like the Bulldogs always do. Won't even be close.

REALLY frustrating season. Fresno game pisses me off to no end. We really should be undefeated in conference play.

Hawaii will beat Fresno behind a career day from Joey Iosefa.

Hawaii will beat Fresno behind a career day from Joey Iosefa. I dunno. I've learned never to trust a QB who's vowel-to-consanent ratio is 3:7.

Hawaii will beat Fresno behind a career day from Joey Iosefa. Plausible. Fresno is #111 out of 120 in rushing defense, giving up 220 yards per game on the ground. And Hawaii, at 3-4 in the conference, enters next weekend with a chance to tie for first place in the division.
