Living up here in the bay area now going on 19 years all I can say is I HATE THE GIANTS!! Well, technically I hate their fans. Snobbish, pompish, their "$#!+ don't stink" attitude. I hope they lose the next two games so I can watch them all cry like the whiny sissy babies that they are. Rant over.

I'm right there with you, been living in the east bay for 25 years (A's fan in addition to Pads) and have been working in Ess Eff for 5+. The worst thing about them is the bandwagoning, there was only one guy at my firm (out of 100) that sported gear when I started, now I'd say 75 of them are "I bleed orange and black." Nothing would be sweeter than the Royals sweeping here and going back to the office Monday to see the smug wiped off their faces.

2010 we were 3 games back of the Giants with a 3 games series in San Francisco. Winning the series would have forced a sudden death game on Monday.
We won the first two games, and the Giants fans were really pissed off. I didn't dare go to the game on Sunday because of a couple of incidences I had with drunk fans during the first two games. The first time I've ever really been scared and I'll never do that again. I also saw an innocent Padre fan with her child on her lap get beer poured on her head and sourrounding fans just laughed. There's very little sportsmanship in the bay area as far as I'm concerned they can go to hell and aren't welcome here.

I've essentially lived in the East Bay since 1984 (except for 3 years in San Diego in the early 90s). Absolutely 'hate' the Giants!

It's brutal up here... Always liked Bochy and Flannery, but can't stand that it's the Giants. I can't stand all the flags on cars, flags on houses and signs in the windows. Especially when those same signs were Niner signs about 3 weeks ago... It's funny because you'd normally see more gear the day after a win vs. the day of, but now it's everywhere... Ugh!

Not so fast my friend! I heard Dan Patrick this morning and his stat of the day was: 80% of the MLB teams down 3-2 that return home for the last 2 games win the whole enchilada!
Come on Royals.

Could happen. Just reacting to the Giants hate. I am from the Bay Area and came to SDSU in 1976. I knew the pain of a loser growing up. As a kid, I had my transister radio next to my ear almost every night and listened to the Dodgers beat the Giants every year. I suffered through the 49ers while they still played at Kezar stadium. The Warriors were never very good. Then everything changed. The Warriors (and Rick Barry) won it all in 1975. The 49ers went on their roll and the Giants in recent years have made their statement. I feel for the San Diego sports fan that has never felt the feeling of a winner. I suffered with the Aztecs for many years, until the Fisher magic happened. I understand the envy and hate, but let's be honest about where it comes from!

It's O.K. to remain constant and support the teams you grew up with and like. No one cares for a bunch of wafflers and front runners, unless you're a company that sells them: USC, Alabama, insert the next MNC team name hats!

And your instincts were correct, after the game/outside the park I was accosted by 4 drunken G-fan idiots who wanted to fight me for no other reason than I was wearing a Pad hat. If my wife hadn't had been there it would have been ugly.
