Of course the Q can be partially blamed. The Aztecs are not the Chargers.

We play better in Boise, Idaho, than we do in San Diego.

Many of the previous points are correct. Seems to me there has been a general malaise among the fans for years when the football program suffered endlessly with the likes of Scovil, Stolz, Tollner, Luginbill, Craft and Chuck Long. There were a few brief highlights mixed in there, and now that the program has shown substantial improvement, the fan support has been lagging. Perhaps I should be more patient. Putting the student section behind the team at field level instead of farming them out in right field would get them more involved and I don't understand why The AD doesn't do that. Also don't get why so many leave early in the 3rd Q, the Aztecs are competing and winning and some of our players are top level talent that definitely can make the jump to the pros. Oh well, I get to go watch the Aztecs play, ticket prices are reasonable, and have some nice seats at the Q and its not crowded.

People curse and brawl at church, school, night clubs, Aztec games and many other places where there's human interaction. Don't start no trouble, won't be no trouble. There's a reason any given Charger telecast contains about 4-5 ad spots for King Stahlman Bail Bonds -- and it cuz the Charger fans just got out of church... Safer than SDSU's campus. Sexual assualts and robberies get more local media than the football program. Is it fair to say SDSU is full of rapists and robbers?

Lackluster gameplay/opponents will lull the most zealous fans to sleep... I don't even bother attending the games anymore. The schedule sucks. At least when we were getting beat by TCU and Utah I could watch one good team. Now it's average against bad.

Speaking of sharing our thoughts with the atheltic department, I just recieved this... Thank you for your continued support of San Diego State Athletics. Saturday night, the Aztec Football team had a big win over Hawaii to take over 1st place in the west division of the Mountain West. While Coach Long and the team get a bye week this week, we look forward to the rest of the season as we aim to win the 20th conference championship in our football history. Just as the San Diego State football team has made huge strides over the past four years, we have continued to work at improving our game day experience at Qualcomm Stadium. You can help us continue to grow Aztec football. Below is a link to a short survey on your game day experience. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey so we can continue making Aztec Football the place to be in San Diego on game day. www.surveymonkey.com/s/LWSD3KR

Thank you big time for sharing. Even if there is no connection, the more we as supporters speak out about improvement, the chances are word makes its way around. Qualcomm is old, but there are soo many ways to continuously improve the atmosphere. Just got to be creative. Thanks again.

Minimal effort produces minimal results, and whoever is in charge is basically sleeping under their desk. Basketball was the same way until the Show grew, which forced athletics to do something beyond playing crappy music.

Thank you big time for sharing. Even if there is no connection, the more we as supporters speak out about improvement, the chances are word makes its way around. Qualcomm is old, but there are soo many ways to continuously improve the atmosphere. Just got to be creative. Thanks again. I totally agree... Basketball was the same way until the Show grew, which forced athletics to do something beyond playing crappy music. Exactly. And thats whats made The Show so great. It was a completely natural thing and just evolved. (Though i will say they have been slippin a bit) With football, it needs to be a bit more intentional to build a better atmosphere at the games. And you couldn't have phrased it better.

Hope you get behind the team enough to come out to a game, definitely welcome at any of my tailgates if you do. But yeah, for some physically going out to the game just isnt their thing, so i get it.

Fans in San Diego love to support a winning team , not just a winner but one that wins a championship or gets into the playoffs . Chargers , Aztecs MBB did not start selling out games until we were a team that won the MW or advanced into MM , same with the Chargers - there have been black outs . AD needs to do a variety of things to increase attendance and the excitement of the games . Winning teams , win the MW . Go out into the communities and make a personal connection , from pop warner , to HS fans , bands , cheer leaders , YMCA's, Alums, to the shopping malls , go OUT to the people and try to form a connection so they feel part of the team .That feeling is not there . Q is where we play , no one likes it but deal with it . Close down with tarps all the upper levels so every one is sitting near the field and other fans. US Soccer did it when they played a game at the Q and it really helped. Maybe try HS band competitions at half time . Also dance teams or cheer leaders or PoP Cheer . Really try to market the students from San Marcos College , as a sister school . Would also like to try to figure out a way to get the exciting crowds who usually support soccer to join in . Missed an opportunity when it was Hispanic Appreciation Month .
We play AFA coming up in November , start planning now , with low prices for the Vets to attend and ask them to adopt SDSU as their school with buttons to them" SDSU Aztecs support our Vets " and have honorary captains and spear ... , Military appreciation game same thing low prices for them .It is part of Fleet Week . Should be easy to get businesses involved as part supporting our troops with tickets to the SDSU game . Military Bands. playing on the field or in the stands. But work it now, game is on a FRIDAY night 11/21 -
Exciting game on the field- still playing to get into MW championship game or bowl bid and if you get an exciting crowd makes it a good time for all . Feature is the game on the field and a decent size crowd in the stands .

it is fair to say I see more brawls and terrostic threats at pro games than college games. Including in SD. I see more sexual assaults and robberies reported at SDSU's campus than both pro and college sporting events. The number of e-mail alerts from the campus police dept have increased this year. They're usually theft or robbery (iPhones, iPads), some assaults (mostly between 1:00-4:00am). I don't think I've ever seen an alert following a sporting event, however.
