The Enemy will be 0-3 after this weeks game in Boise. Every time they lose to anyone it makes me smile! BYU has a difficult time scheduling games in Nov. When every team is in the heart of conference races; BYWho is playing Middle Tennessee State 5-3 (CUSA), UNLV 2-5 (MWC)and Savannah State 0-7 (MEAC- FCS). It looks like they hit a soft spot after Boise State. Cal should take them to the shed for their final defeat.

In 2015 BYWho plays five MWC Games, Boise St, San Jose, UNLV, Fresno and Utah St. Honestly, this independent status is really a modified MWC/ACC hybrid. They play 3 AAC teams Uconn, Cincy and East Carolina and will walkover Idaho State. www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-15/indep/2015-byu-cougars-football-schedule.phpBYU isn't going to be able to pull of a P5 Notre Dame type schedule. (9) games between MWC, AAC + Idaho St. They have scheduling issues for 2016.

BYU is trying to win with their own Nick Bawden. Oldie Out No excuse for not having a quality backup, my BYU friend known as Erik the Zoob on BYU's message board thinks it's time for a coaching change. You might want to take him to a football game. Apparently it'd be his first. He's a tremendous coach. If you were going from average to sub-average QB that's one thing, but their QB was among the best in the nation. There are very few teams out there who wouldn't see a major drop-off when losing that, and last I checked BYU was a Bama/Ohio St type of team when it comes to depth & talent.

They lost to two MWC teams. "Bama/Ohio St type of team"s don't do that (much). I learned on this board that if you have a good coach, then you have a good backups that can overcome injuries. Therefore injuries can not be used as an excuse for a coach losing. Maybe he is a smart football guy but took things he read here too seriously.

N.D. is part of the ACC for basketball and can slide into it for football ,as they have been playing more games against ACC schools .Will slide in if they need to for the playoffs . BYU has their TV network , do not know how much it brings in for them ?probably more then a MW deal.BYU would love to jump to the B12 ,have begged as most G5 schools have but unless the B12 is forced to expand ,answer has been No . So getting very high level 4 or 5* star recruits is not that easy , unless they have a connection. So winning and scheduling is not that easy / quality wise . G5 is G5 ,even for BYU .

Speaking of the Big 12, would the Aztecs jump if they offered a spot but for half a share of all conference income for 10 years.

Losing players at some positions shouldn't be used as an excuse, but they still DO impact your season. Losing THE MOST IMPORTANT player on the field DEFINITELY impacts 95% of the teams in the nation. BYU, like MWC teams, is not an SEC or like team able to overcome any and all injuries. You don't use injuries during the season as an excuse because you don't want your team to use them as a crutch, but they sure as hell have a major impact on the outcome of a season.

Now I am confused. I am getting different information about injuries.

This is the MWC section. Nevada scoring 42 on BYU? I didn't think their offense was that good. aztecbill, don't know if you did, but I watched the BYU/Nevada game the other night (most of the second half). Fajardo caught on fire in the second half against the 'Cougs! They were down 28-13 in the first half, and he led them to two quick TD's in the second half to tie the score 28-28. Then kept the Wolfpack going, because they were leading 42-28 before BYU even scored again! This Nevada QB was amazing passing, and running the ball against them. They couldn't contain him, he was just going crazy, and he did all this on BYU's home field! Never saw an opponent do this to the 'Cougs since Faulk was there in 1992! I'll tell you this..., if he looks even half this good against us in Reno in two weeks our defense will have it's hands full! We will definitely need the whole two weeks to prepare for this Nevada team. They seem to be coming together as a unit, and playing extremely well. Remember, our last two games vs. them have been OT, and hard fought. This will probably be another close one, and they have the QB who can lead them to victory. It's nervous time in San Diego.
