I'm thinking all The AZTECS coming to the pre-game get together should send me a PM so I can get an accurate head count. Thanks! What's the plan?

** Southwest Airlines ticket sale! **
I just re-booked my flight from Oakland for $59 each way... flying in Saturday morning and flying home Monday early evening.
My original ticket price was north of $200 with fees... worth looking into for those of you flying on SWA.

I'm staying Sunday night near the University Village area which is a better neighborhood than University Ave. If you want to stay downtown Seattle go for it. Pay big bucks, driving and parking hassle. Couple hotels in area by Ram Restaurant: Travelodge and Silver Cloud(http://www.silvercloud.com/university/)Both are close walking distance to University Village and Ram Restaurant and probably can catch a bus or cab to game and not have to hassle driving and paying to park. Daughter (Husky) and I staying at Silver Cloud. Prepare to walk in wet, cold, night. FYI Go Aztecs!

But I travel to Seattle for work a bit, Airbnb is really the way to go if you are staying more than 1 night. Lots of great options at reasonable rates.

I'm bringing my dogs, so I have to settle for La Quinta Inn DT. Downtown seems to be about $35/night more expensive than same or similar near the university, fwiw

I'm staying in Belltown at the Hotel Five... yeah, I'm gonna do a lot of touristy stuff since this is only my second visit to Seattle.
Next important question: Where's the post game celebration?

I love stuff like this... was in New Orleans a few weeks back and took a 'haunted' tour of the French Quarter and loved it! Then you'll love this. It seems that "way back when" after part of the city was built they decided to raise the level of the streets. This left the first floor of many buildings a full story below street level. Later they covered over the sidewalks which were also below street level and the first floors became like basements. You get to tour this underground part of the city and see a lot of original buildings. You will also get the history of the flush toilet. It's more interesting than you might think. You'll also learn the origin of a common American term that is often used on this board. Let me know if they tell you the story of the 2 men who build their buildings side by side and how one of them paid dearly for not being a little more co-operative.

Not sure if the same tour (there's lots of them)... but my tour definitely covered the LaLaurie house and story of Dr. LaLaurie (what a sick bastard). Apparently the LaLaurie house was featured in Season 3 of American Horror Story: Coven.

If you've never been to Seattle before and have the time, I would say the best value attraction is to take the Ferry to Bainbridge Island and back. It's a 45 minute trip one way and offers spectacular views of the Seattle Skyline and I think you can also enjoy micro brews on board. Leaves from the downtown waterfront. Just pay and walk on. To me the Space Needle is way overrated and way too expensive but I guess everyone has to do it once. The clam chowder at FX Mcrorry's is awesome, the Metropolitan Grill for dinner is very pricey but fantastic, and oysters just about anywhere should be great this time of year. Also if you have time, a walk near Volunteer park among the old mansions of Capitol Hill is a great way to spend an hour too. Plenty of places to eat and drink. See you all there for an Aztec win!!!

If you are down in Pike's Place and are looking for oysters try Tom Douglas' Seatown Tavern. They usually have 5-6 varieties on ice & they of course have a bar. If you want fancier seafood & digs try Etta's just a few doors down.

That trip to Bainbridge is my favorite Seattle thing to do. I do it every single time I have a free day there. We're flying in at 11:30... so the plan is just to go to Pikes Place, mess around, meet a friend for dinner, then go to the game. Really a bummer that it's such a quick trip. But them's the breaks!
