The solution is to change everywhere in law that says "marriage" to "civil marriage". There, the problem is solved. Who can complain how a "civil marriage" is defined?
As far as polygamy is concerned, it legal as long as you don't register your marriage with the state. Gay couples wanted their marriages recognized so laws governing marriage applied to them, but with polygamy, the laws aren't designed for threesomes. Marry one of them legally and live with the other one too. No law will be violated. You may even call the 3rd your wife.

The ship has sailed on opposition to gay marriage. It'll take a little while for some to get it. It'll be a complete non-issue in a couple years.

Not sure how this will fall out, but our Constitution does not talk about this issue so it is up to the States. If a Federal Court or Judge makes a ruling it may have to go to the Supreme Court even though they would not touch it under other circumstances. Interesting in how it will fall out.

I no longer believe it is logical to get married. Today´s culture is heavily based on consumerism and opprtunism- these two moreso than any others are societal values which nowadays influence women down to a t.
Also, I truly believe that a vast majority of women in cosmopolitan cities across the globe have their price. Regardless of how good a man is to them-an increasing majority would leave that guy and extract alimony, assets,etc.. to relive the single lifestyle with their girlfriends and chase "trophy guys". Society, more and more teaches women to get what they can at all costs, and that the ends justify the means. So if youre not the trophy guys, ie... a young, cut, 6 4´ investment banker, who drives a Porsche and travels every month- youre a temporary stepping stone to more and more women.
Does marriage make sense? More and more people warn me about it, I just dont see the sense of getting married. Why wager your livlihood and youth on an inherently opportunistic being, who will take you to the cleaners at the drop of a hat?

(in the general sense that is)

Being old (not as old as Win or AW though), and old fashioned, I believe in the concept of marriage. When two people love each other the formalization of the relationship is important. Too many people these days take the easy way out and don't work on a relationship. This is why I believe that the concept of (civil) marriage is so important to the gay community. Marriage also has many legal benefits that other types of relationships do not have. The problem that many have is that they cannot separate the concept of civil marriage with that of religious marriage.

I will be interested in how the new Texas action to prevent any attack on religious beliefs turns out. I just do not think that much has changed since the ability to contact has always been there.
