With the injuries to QK I hope Bawden has been practicing and getting reps like a starter. I am thinking mentally he has been expecting this day to come. I have full confidence in Bawden. Bring home the victory and start the next chapter in Aztec QB's stepping up! Carpe Diem

If he really can open up the playbook, then why has he not been in all season? Rocky is so anti-freshman. Play the better player Coach Long is no more anti-Freshman than Coach Fisher. "Through four games, San Diego State has had 15 players make their first career start and 28 players see their first Division I game action. SDSU currently has four projected starters that are out due to injury - senior linebacker Derek Largent, junior linebacker Jake Fely, senior quarterback Quinn Kaehler and senior wide receiver Ezell Ruffin." I am sure there are a few Freshmen included in those numbers. Depth Chart
Yeah, we have had many freshman start their first game with the Aztec team this year, so what is giggly' spouting about? He forgot to check his facts first, because it is obvious he is wrong. And, I'm a little concerned because a freshman QB starting his first game can be very difficult for the team. There will be many mistakes, and mental errors which I hope does not prevent the team from winning up there.

Have you heard his press conferences? He constantly bad mouths freshman

I guess he needs to be more like Fisher and not say anything when "not playing" freshmen

I guess he needs to be more like Fisher and not say anything when "not playing" freshmen Heath, Slaughter, Spain, DJ, Chase, Leonard, Shep. Fisher has played plenty of freshman - the teams are more stocked so it's harder for guys like Dakari Allen to get minutes (though I think Fish should have played him more)

Rocky is very pragmatic - simply states that the closer you are to the line of scrimmage the less likely you are to play as a true freshman... not sure if you consider that bad mouthing?

Just like the good big guy usually beats the good little guy, the good experienced guy will usually beat the good inexperienced guy.

What about the not so good exprienced guy vs a more talented no experience guy?

Really expect to see a game plan similar to Dingwell first starts. I think Bawden is more talented and hope to see us use him like Katz, but maybe in a simplified version.

What about the not so good exprienced guy vs a more talented no experience guy? That's when you might get to see a freshman QB (or point guard) take over the game.
