The head coach at USC did a very good job at Florida Golf Coast and as he and the staff gets their players into USC ,they will be a good team . But they play in the PAC , with a lot of good quality teams . If USC was in the MW they may be able to finish close to 3rd place .

All those guys you name are like from 5+ years back. USC has never recruited at this level. And this whole post screams sour grapes, they will be good in a couple of years. Also Derozan went to USC for simply 1 reason, you can figure it out and Nick Young was far from a big recruit, his only other offer was Wyoming. 2007 class: espn.go.com/colleges/basketball/recruiting/school/_/id/30/class/2007OJ mayo and Marcus Simmons, both espn top 100 recruits, OJ being one of the top in the country. 2008 class: espn.go.com/colleges/basketball/recruiting/school/_/id/30/class/2008Demar DeRozan, the top SF in the country 2009: they only had 1 recruit and he wasn't good.. must've not had many schollies available 2010 class: espn.go.com/colleges/basketball/recruiting/school/_/id/30/class/2010two espn top 100 recruits in that class. (one of them being BJD, so that goes to show the character guys theyve recruited in the past) Ever since then they've had bad classes. I dont consider 4-7 years ago a very long time, and in my post i said they've been down the last couple of years. It doesn't matter why someone went there... the fact is that they went there. They've had talent in the past and haven't been able to coach it, but i suppose with a new coach you never know. I don't see how that post resembled sour grapes, i was simply stating facts and i don't have much confidence that they'll be very good. I'm an aztec fan, why would i have sour grapes over USC's basketball program? I am pretty sure that Tim Floyd was handling out cash filled envelopes and $1,000 handshakes to OJ Mayo and Demar DeRozan. That's why he is in UTEP now. He pulled a Pete Carroll.

If Tony Bland stayed at SDSU, they wouldn't have gotten Malik Pope or Zylan Cheatham. Well sure, bland would have recruited other highly rank players.
When I started this post, I just made a few observations that USC basketball was back on the map and that Andy Enfield hired coach Bland to recruit in So Cal. USC has been dismal ever since Tim Floyd left and the $1,000 handshakes ended (See OJ Mayo).
I never meant this to be a Bland vs Hut comparison

Bland & Hut became friends, unexpectedly by either of them, bonding because of their mutual love for the same mistress: BASKETBALL.

Neither did I, I just think it's unnecessary for some of the posts sour grapes and shots at Bland. Bland is terrific at his job as is Hutson, I like both a lot.

Well Enfield and Bland are picking up 4-star kids, but half assing it with the non confernce schedule.
Nonconference:
Nov. 15 - Portland State Nov. 17 - Tennessee Tech Nov. 20 - vs. Akron (at Charleston Classic) Nov. 21 - vs. Miami or Drexel (at Charleston Classic) Nov. 23 - vs. TBD (at Charleston Classic) Nov. 25 - CS Fullerton Nov. 30 - at New Mexico Dec. 3 - Loyola Marymount Dec. 7 - Utah State Dec. 13 - Army Dec. 21 - at Boston College Dec. 30 - Vermont
Pac-12 Conference: Jan. 2-4 - at Colorado, at Utah Jan. 7-11 - California, Stanford Jan. 14-18 - UCLA Jan. 21-25 - at Oregon, at Oregon State Jan. 28-Feb. 1 - Utah, Colorado Feb. 4-8 - at Stanford, at California Feb. 11-15 - Oregon State, Oregon Feb. 18-22 - at Arizona, at Arizona State Feb. 25-March 1 - Washington, Washington State March 4-8 - at UCLA March 11-14 - Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev.

The USC basketball team has been the laughing stock of the PAC, but since 2013 when Andy Enfield stole Tony Bland from the Aztecs, grabbed UNLVs Katin Reinhardt from Mater Dei and landed #49 Jordan McLaughlin PG, #64 Elijiah Stewart in 2014 and now #55 Bennie Boatright 6'9 PF, #45 Chimezie Metu 6'9 PF for 2015 season we are going to have to go head to head with them on every So Cal recruit now and in the future. Bland is a good recruiter and making the Trojans better. And that's bad for the Aztecs. I hope they fail, first FGCU, then Bland and now recruits. With Bland on our side we would have landed at least 1 and maybe 2 of these players. collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/28/mixtape-of-usc-commits-benne-boatwright-and-chimezie-metu-video/related/If Bland hadn't left we probably wouldn't have been been able to lure Justin Hutson back. I like Tony a lot, and he's a fantastic AFL, but I'd rather have Coach Hut. Good for Tony and his work at USC. SDSU is still the better hoops program. /\ This. Did you not notice the defense got remarkably better last year again? Back to the way it was before Hutson left?

Hut mentored Bland on recruiting & Hut is also a defensive coach, I'd say HUT is better, HUT recruited the #1 Draft pick in the NBA draft as well while at UNLV not too shabby...............Bland loves SDSU - but $120k vs $300k is a tough offer to refuse....

You base your schedule on the team you have returning. They're going to have a team of primarily FR & SO's, so they need to book games which will allow them to get into a rhythm before P12 play, and gain confidence. They need to build confidence, win 15+ games, maybe hit the CBI & prepare for some good incoming & growing talent. They'll be lucky to win 7-8 conference games, so 8-10 NC would work wonders for them. Have a feeling next year will be a different set of NC games.

USC will be much better this year, but the upcoming team to watch is Utah! That will be a tough game for the Aztecs. U Dub in Seattle will be a Challange too!

The PAC will be a very good league this year . Arizona , UCLA , Stanford , .......... far superior to the MW top to bottom .

The PAC will be a very good league this year . Arizona , UCLA , Stanford , .......... far superior to the MW top to bottom . They'll be a good league at the top this year with UA, UCLA, Utah, Colorado & possibly Stanford. Juries still out on Cal (minus Cobbs) & UW (minus Wilcox & others). Big gap between them & the rest of the conference. OSU took a huge step back this year & will be bad; WSU won't be good; USC won't be good yet - still too inexperienced; Oregon has 10 players total and if Lyles isn't eligible they'll be mediocre at best; and ASU took a huge step backwards as well. A lot of unknowns across the board.

I wish the bottom half of the MWC would schedule like that.

Pac 12 will still be a top 4 conference and miles better than the MWC Without a doubt, especially at the top. IMO the P12 will have 5 top 30 teams - Arizona, UCLA, Utah, Stanford & Colorado. The MWC may have 2, although 1-2 others may surprise. I think if you put the 2 conferences together I'd have the standings as: 1. UA (way ahead of all) 2-3. SDSU, UCLA 4-6. Stanford, Utah, Colorado (you could argue 2-6 would be tough to separate) 7-13. UNLV, NM, UW, Cal, UO (if JC transfers light it up), CSU & Wyoming 14-17. BSU, Fresno, USC & ASU 18-20. WSU, Nevada, AFA 21-23. OSU, USU, SJSU So in a 23-team league the P12 "division" would own the good to elite teams, while most of the MWC teams would battling for those middle slots. At the bottom, the MWC would have 4 teams that aren't even top 150 teams; the P12 - 2. Back to USC - I wouldn't expect them to finish in the top 5 or 6 of the MWC this year, personally. They're a year away IMO. PS. I'd think USD will be as good if not better than 3-4 P12 teams, and 4-5 MWC teams.
