Anyone know the last time the Aztecs beat a Power 5 conference team on the road? Can't seem to find that info.
Thanks!

Think we also beat Minnesota sometime back, maybe 20 years ago.

If you don't mind a 4th dimensional argument, how about the win over Utah (future P5 member) 28-19 in Provo Utah, October 2005?

This Saturday will be the next one. Good answer, and I believe...... Yes, Kansas in '99 was the last time, and Dorthy didn't like it!

Think we also beat Minnesota sometime back, maybe 20 years ago. But, that game was with Faulk at home, and the following year they beat us at their place.

The Aztecs humiliated the Gophers something like 47-16 @ the Q. The following years rematch in MN resulted in the Gophers drubbing the Aztecs by a very similar score.

We also beat Oklahoma on the road a couple decades ago. Of course, that was during the short era when the Sooners were petty much worthless.

Loved that game! (We had lost in Norman the year before.) Oklahoma is about the only major power against which we are at .500 lifetime. AzWm

Loved that game! (We had lost in Norman the year before.) Oklahoma is about the only major power against which we are at .500 lifetime. AzWm Yes, that was a fantastic game to watch! I was there with my cousin, and we had Billy Blanton as QB, George Jones at RB, Will Blackwell at WR, and believe it or not Tom Craft was our Offensive Coordinator, and Claude Gilbert as DC! It took Oklahoma 5 to 7 minutes to go down the field to score a TD with their run game, and we would come back to score quickly within 2 minutes or less with our pass game. I believe we taught Oklahoma in that game that you cannot win very well with only a one dimension offense. Because, they learned very well, and just 4 years later won the NC with not only a good running game ,but a pretty good QB! *AzWm> we may be .500 with Ok., but against the current NC as you may know (Fla. St. ) we are 2-0 all time, and beat them bad in both victories!!!

Courtesy of the SDSU Media Guide:
2005 @ UTAH 28-19 1999 @ KANSAS 41-13 1995 @ UTAH 24-21 1991 @ UTAH 24-21 1989 @ UTAH 38-27 1986 @ UTAH 37-30 1981 @ OKLAHOMA STATE 23-16 1977 @ ARIZONA 21-14 1975 @ OREGON STATE 25-0
And of course Utah was not a member of a Big 5 conference when any of those wins took place. Pretty slim pickings.

I was in Vegas that weekend, and I distinctly remember getting back late to our hotel room after a night of drunken debauchery and frantically searching all the TV channels for the final score. Took a while before I finally got it to pop up. This was of course before the days of smart phones, and also before ESPN, et al started flashing all the scores both during broadcasts AND commercials. A lesson in frustration waiting for measly SDSU to have their score posted. I remember being shocked upon seeing the final score. For some reason, I thought it was a road game. I blame the booze.
