Edit:
I just briefly scanned the schedule that they posted on twitter and made a rash judgement without actually looking at every name. I apologize. Overall I'm actually happy with it especially if we get a chance at Arizona

Disappointing that we couldn't get a better OOC schedule with our recent success. Whats the SOS for our OOC? Has to be in the 200's Looking at that we should be able to win all those games, but I think we will only be allowed one hiccup if we want to get a decent tourney seed. We will probably play Arizona in Hawaii and at Cincinnati is very tough. If we lose to those two but beat Utah, BYU, Pitt, Washington and the rest, we will be fine. Ball State was 3-25 last year. Unless they really improve, that is a huge RPI killer. The only other RPI killer is Riverside who was 8-21 last year. Long Beach State will have a bad record coming into conference but playing the Big West will fix that. Bakersfield, Northridge, and USD aren't great but won't be RPI killers. BYU, Pitt, Utah, Arizona, Washington, Long Beach State, and Cincinnati should all have winning records. Our SOS won't be too bad, could be top 100 OOC.

We have plenty of quality games on the schedule. The OOC schedule is just fine. Cinci BYU Washington Utah Long Beach State With the possibility of playing Pitt and U of A. Not every game is going to be prime time. This might be the best OOC schedule we've ever had.

Awesome schedule - to be on the 24 hours of Hoops on ESPN vs Utah, Maui Invite final with Arizona & better yet opening game vs BYU.
@ Wash @ Cinn
sounds great!

Whats the SOS if we play Arizona? To know our SOS we would have to know how the season goes. We would need to know the W/L records, this coming season, for all our opponents and their opponents. I would be a lot happier with St Kats instead of Ball State.

Agreed.I just briefly scanned the schedule and prejudged it because there weren't any of those pretty big name schools that look good on a schedule (Kansas, Arizona, ect.). Jumped to a quick judgement without actually looking at in detail, but after looking at it I agree it's a good OOC schedule.

Would guess the selection group looks for good wins against top 50 or 100 teams . Aztecs would need to win all the home games including Utah . The Maui T will be very important on a neutral court . Road games at Washington and Cincy will add to the resume . I would guess the OOC could determine Aztec rating for the year . In the MW need to win every home game , on the road maybe 1 to 3 loses . MW has terrible places to travel to and altitude but "those in the Know" do not think good teams should lose to those teams .

12/4/14 against USD at home...seems very appropriate. Glad they were able to schedule a game on that date.

Yea, Ball St is going to be BAD - low 300's at best (they started 3 seniors on a bad team last year). Riverside won't be any good, but will be improved over last year (I'd predict 220-250-ish). SD Christian is bad. CSUB should be pretty bad as well - maybe 250's range. Northridge isn't going to kill you - low 200's in Kenpom's rankings last year, and returning everyone (sans transfers/dropouts I don't know about) but 1 player. Could be in the mid to high 100's this year? They beat Irvine, Long Beach & UCSB last year, so capable... Overall though, solid schedule. Utah, Cincy, UW & BYU; potential for 3 good teams in Maui. 7 good teams plus a LBSU team that's loaded with talent. USD is always interesting. So throwing in 4 "meh" games - so what? I actually like it a lot with all the FR we have on this team to give whoever is at the point some time to gain confidence. They'll need the minutes early to help prepare them for conference play.

That Washington trip is looking entirely doable. Southwest, non-stops... $140 RT.

Schedule looks fine. Like everyone else...I always want bigger and better teams in our arena. Not sure if CBS Sports Network hurts us in our home scheduling...but they certainly do not help. ESPN having first rights would certainly help us.
