Since I am an old man I set my DVR for this show but have a question. When did they start playing football with horses?

Outstanding show. What a great showcase for Rocky and the team. Kevin is the perfect guy to be hosting this. Now that we are getting some great transfers I asked Coach Long last week to explain his "style" and what kind of recruits are drawn to our program? It was great to see the montage of players saying everything he told me...while explaining "Aztec Football". I'm sure they'll do this for basketball as well. Yet another reason to have DirecTV if you're not in the Fox Sports San Diego footprint. Only complaint...way too much tecpride.

It's on now, Started at 10 PM ... should repeat at 10:30 and again at 3:30a Fox Sports San Diego can be found: San DiegoAT&T U-verse 776 (SD) 1776 (HD) Cox 56 (SD) 1056 (HD) / 68 or 406 (Spanish - SD) Time Warner Cable 61 (SD) 322 (HD) / 422 (Spanish - SD) 325 (Spanish - HD) Satellite DirecTV (US) 694 (SD/HD) Dish Network (US) 408 (SD/HD) Other Areas (Outside of San Diego) El Centro - Time Warner Cable 20 (SD) 720 (HD) Desert Cities - Time Warner Cable 76 (SD) 322 (HD) / 422 (Spanish - SD) 325 (Spanish - HD) Hawaii - Oceanic Time Warner Cable 227 (SD/HD) Las Vegas - Cox 96 (SD) 1096 (HD) / 98 (Spanish - SD) Tucson - Cox 73 (SD) 1073 (HD) Yuma - Time Warner Cable 70 (SD) 799 (HD) They should have played it again at 10:30PM instead of showing horses. Friday will repeat as mentioned at 3:30AM, 12PM, and 11:30PM. Then also shows after Padres replay on Sunday evening at 10PM. I'll be watching the first show on Thursdays after the Padres, but it's nice to have the show on replay for as much as it will. Aztec Football's first Nationally televised show looked sharp and felt like a great recruiting tool, IMO. GO AZTECS!!!#BelieveTheHypeBasketball takes over the later this year, with Fisher.

Looks to me like we've got the horses to make a run this year. Is the Pacific Classic a new bowl game?

it started at 10, not 10:30. With the aces throwing the game ended early.

Forget recruiting players, this show will recruit FANS. I think it will attract some SD fans to the program, which we need.

Great first show production, went by way too quickly . Nice shots of the campus- good added touch . Great to include an assistant coach ( Horton RB - this time ) but have him explain what he is working on with the players. Rocky trying to break down his 3-3-5 defense , reads and how divergent each guys duties are on every play . Some interviews with the players. They talked about the senior leadership- may be have a list of them. Various sporting events scheduled at SDSU . Would have been nice to have shown or heard the pep band playing the fight song . It all adds up when recruits , fans , alums ,players, sponsors are watching . Thank you to Fox , Aztecs who put this together and sponsors ( let them know you watched and glad it is on the air ) Should try to get a set time .

FWIW, I programmed my DVR to record the replay at 3:30AM 1 minute early, so started recording at 3:29AM and the show was already playing. Gonna be setting my DVR to start recording 2 minutes earlier than each broadcast time.
GO AZTECS!!! #BelieveTheHype

Great opportunity to attract a variety of fans , recruits , sponsors , alums/donations . They are all needed to produce a solid program . Would also be a good idea if an Aztec coach was part of the PPR, Sports Wrap up shows .... . The more positive PR you can get out there really helps build the program .

Fortunately, we recorded the re-run at 3:30 and I am very enthused about watching this show in the future. Kevin O'Connell did a nice job as host, the segments were all well produced and informative and Rocky was very good, though I know he has said in the past that such shows make him uncomfortable. Good job all the way around. dley

Yet another reason to have DirecTV if you're not in the Fox Sports San Diego footprint. Only complaint...way too much tecpride. Couldn't agree more with what everyone is saying. Great show; GREAT vehicle to increasing not only the profile of the program but of CRL himself. O'Connell was terrific; the hostess was good & would like to see her involved in some more "personalization" pieces. Love the classroom part No "real" complaint other than the fact you never really know when it'll start (given the Padres good pitching), BUT I get that they want people to tune into the Padres game as well. So good cross-sell that works for both the Padres & the Aztecs, who hopefully will gain a few "fans". I liked the 1:1 interviews with the players, but hoping in the future these get more "personal". By that if anyone's watched "The Drive" on the Pac 12 network (great show BTW) they get into a lot of individual pieces about the players on their turf, whether home or doing a hobby, etc. But overall, an awesome first show & kudos to SDSU for putting it all together. Much needed and much deserved! PS. BTW, where is McConnell these days? Loved listening to his radio show whenever I happened to be driving home from work late, but usually seemed to find him by accident. Does he have a specific show/radio station these days, or is he just doing this with FSSD and the college football broadcast gig?

i think the one area where SDSU Football Alumni REALLY have a great footing is in the MEDIA.
With guys like the great Marshall Faulk, Akbar Gbaja biamila, Kirk Morrison and now Kevin O'Connell These vehicles like this show both locally and nationally to make the AZTECS brand more visible may not have seemed to make much of a difference a few years ago, but i believe it will make a pretty good impact now and in the near future.
BIG thanks to those guys mentioned above (who all seem to be real stand-up dudes) for being at the forefront of this new AZTEC generation in the media!

Forgot all about it, unfortunately. Great to hear that SDSU managed to produce a top-notch program.

When local players commit to the Aztecs devote a segment to them with an interview. Kids would love getting on TV in their home town. It would help recruiting. Other local studs would watch and be moved to join.
It is not the Aztecs so it is OK.
