Holt is sixth freshman in this year's recruiting class. Crean already has signed James Blackmon, Jr. and Robert Johnson, both guards, forwards Max Hoetzel and Tim Priller and center Jeremiah April. (Wouldn't this take minutes from LEAF when he comes in as a freshman in 2016) IU literally has 0 scholarships available for 2015 with the current list; 3 Jr, 4 Soph and 6 Fr. I assume they would make room for TJ, but perhaps he wants to stay in So Cal. Leaf is a 2016 recruit I thinkā¦.Not sure who indiana is losing after this year

Now it's Florida? Wow. The kid has every major program kissing his butt (with offers from Duke, Ariz., UCLA, Fla., Indiana, etc.). Leaf is one of the most sought-after talents to ever come out of San Diego. Yet the kid doesn't need to go to distant lands in order to play top-caliber basketball and have a shot at the NBA. It seems he has the travel bug. It seems we're off his radar.

The kid is doing his due diligence, give him a break.

The kid is doing his due diligence, give him a break. Agreed. I would probably do the same. I hope we're still in the mix because the kid is a talent.

If TJ doesn't want to play at SDSU, there are plenty of other good players that will. NEXT!

He gets his free official visits , which he is entitled to take ,especially to the top schools . Believe it would be nice if he would tell the Aztec coaches after the visits if he honestly still has SDSU in his final 6 ( which I doubt ) , then both sides can proceed . Would also guess since he is local ,if anything we are an unofficial visit .

The kid is doing his due diligence, give him a break. Yeah, and it has to be fun and exciting for him. Many players, though, say it can be very draining on them as well. I can understand a kid wanting to go away to school (and he has a lot of quality programs interested in him) so I can't fault him if that is part of his reasoning. It doesn't always work out the way they envision it, however. Fisher is pretty good at understanding that you win some and lose some when it comes to recruiting. He also never burns his bridges.

In realistic terms , Leaf is going to be grateful to the Aztecs- but being a top #20 players will most likely see what is the best offer he can get from a P5 school . Very similar to Chase Budinger .
Also interesting to note that Jalen Coleman #37 recruit for 2015 picked Illinois over N.D. and UNLV . Not sure if the Lobos hired an assistant coach from his Indiana area to try to recruit him . Rex was there with Jalen at N.D the same weekend for a recruiting visit .

So if he does verbal to a school , can he still go visit other schools ? Why not at least go for the visits to see all the schools, especially during the BB season ?

I heard through a Leaf family friend that Coach K took a charter flight to Gillispie Field and watched Leaf's recent practice. Coach K told Leaf he reminds him of Larry Bird.
This is just one snipit I heard, but wow, I imagine it must be incredibly difficult for these kids to not be intoxicated by the potions these blue blood programs are whispering in their ears.
