I am not drinking the Boise State Kool-Aid this year. Drmic is a Manu Ginobili type player, but I don't think he is the best in the MWC. I believe incoming freshman and transfers will have more impact than his first team players. Shepard has the most talent, but needs to sort out his head. Larry Nance is coming off an ACL tear.
The Aztecs and Rebels have by far the most talent and then their is everyone else. I see Fresno State as the surprise team.
Wyoming #3, come on? and CSU will have some fighters as usual but losing Sr. John Octeus is gonna hurt them. Even so, the Rams may move up to #3 in my book.

Marks had a great 2012-2013 but really regressed last year. If he returns to his 2012-2013 level, BSU could be very tough. They lost a lot of close games last year. The type of games that they won the previous year. They add Chandler Hutchison a 4 star 6'6" SG. They could have Drmic, Marks, and Hutchison playing together. That would be a tough trio for most MWC teams to defend. They add a lot of new big guys and a couple need to step up to average for the guards to succeed. If they do, BSU could be tough.

I think Hutchinson is the key for them. If he's as advertised he helps both Drmic & Marks get better shots & lifts them a level. I know Rice thought this would be his best team (one of the (many) reasons he didn't take WSU job when offered). I had SDSU, UNLV, BSU, NM & then CSU personally, but hadn't really considered Wyoming. Not sure what else they have, but if Nance is 90%+ (which he should be) he's a very good talent. Not enough to carry a team though IMO.

If Nance is close to 100% they will be tough and could be in the mix of the middle of the MWC. I think the 3-7 teams will all be close to within 1 game of each other. 1. SDSU 8. Nev 9. AFA 10.USU 11.SJSU The second place team may separate themselves some but we could see #3 to #7 around 10-8 or 9-9. If that is the case, it is impossible to rank those teams in positions.

I'm not buying the BSU stuff, either. I have a hard time believing that New Mexico will be out of the top 3 when it's all said and done. The class of this league is SDSU, UNLV, and UNM... it's safe to say 2/3 of them with be 2/3 of the top teams most years.

Drimc is playing for the Australian national team this summer , really helped B'Stow last year at UNM. But to me they will need a strong player down low to finish near the top . Interesting trends UNLV and SDSU can recruit numerous quality HS players . CSU and UNM will need to bring in transfers to be able to compete

I think Drmic is really overrated. Maybe because he's guarded by our long, athletic guys but he never impresses me when I see him play

Remember last year? We didn't have a star either. A good system will generate the wins.

Probably Neal's son. He'll be given every opportunity to be so, at the teams' expense. Isn't that how father-son relationship go?

I guess the question is - do we go undefeated in conference play?

New Mexico will be very thin at guard and very inexperienced at the bigs. If these players we playing on another team no one would have a problem picking them 6th or worse.

Can someone provide a preview of lobos' players. It seems like they got many players weighing in at 220 lbs and above. Are they athletic 220 lbs or just dead weights.
