Memphis just offered. He's heating up. St John's offer came today. Memphis as you said, so has VCU...bigger offers since Drexel, Rhode Is and St Joes. Sounds like EA's recent showing is getting a ton more attention from the Big Boys, or Bigger Boys.

Nova has been slow playing Aflakpui, because they know they can out-recruit us for him whenever they want. They dont have to make him a priority like we have.

If they think that then great for us, no one other than UK and Duke and maybe a few others can come in at the last minute and take a recruit from us. Kansas, UCLA and others have tried and missed recently.

He has said that he is in no hurry to make his decision .Feels it is important to make the visits to talk with the coaches and players to see where he feels would be the best fit for him. So the first thing would be to make sure we are on his official visit list for August - October. Fortunately we have his mentor Coach Ku ,who lives and coaches in the San Diego area , that helps but the recruiting battles can be very competitive .

It's actually very reasonable to say that SDSU has a better hoops program than 'Nova right now. I know, it's shocking to say/type/read that... but honestly, it's true.

Interest from Pitt, Georgia, U Dub and St. Louis, recruiting just got a lot more interesting. –Ernest Aflakpui (2015/WE R1 17U/Archbishop Carroll) had a double-double against Cecil Kirk, with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The native Ghanian has been busy, picking up offers from Memphis and St. John’s in the past week, along with interest from Pittsburgh, Georgia, Washington and Saint Louis. With several high-major offers, including three local schools in Temple, St. Joe’s and La Salle, Aflakpui has been improving all parts of his game this summer, including his already strong defense and rebounding. cityofbasketballlove.com/2014/07/battle-of-the-borders-notebook/

E.A. seems to be a very level headed guy that wants to go through the whole process , to see where he feels will be the most comfortable and best fit for him. Not going to be a quick decision .

Today's EA update.
Ernest Aflakpui (Archbishop Carroll, Pa./WE R1) The 6-foot-9 center capped off an impressive AAU season with a offer-heavy July. Aflakpui was dominant in the post throughout the month and picked up additional offers from Seton Hall, VCU, Memphis, Rhode Island and George Washington to add to scholarship invites from San Diego State, St. Joseph’s and Temple. Aflakpui impressed at events across the country and is certainly one of the more intriguing prospects in the region. While it’s unclear when a decision will come, Aflakpui’s recruiting will be a big story to track as we get closer to the high school season.

He will most likely take all his visits before he makes a decision . Important thing for the Aztecs will be to try to schedule a visit on campus . Believe he wants to see a campus , talk with the players and coaches . So do not expect an early decision

Most visits do not start until August and open recruiting lasts through October . If he is thorough he will want to visit the various Universities after school starts , so he can see the campus , players and coaches in their normal routine . Key will be if he has us on his official list of visits . Feel the Aztec coaches have a legit contact with his mentor in San Diego to say if he is still considering SDSU . To me if the coaches think he is a guy we want then you hold a scholarship for him until he says we are not on his list .

Well with Jones committed, you guys only have one scholarship left for Ernest or Grimes. Curious where you go now.

Aztecs still have 1 scholarship the coaches can use or hold for a transfer ,so there is no rush or panic . there is also a chance as mentioned Shepard could leave early and open up another scholarship .
