Ruben Meza @rubenmezaasr 45m Bailey caught everything thrown his way during SDSU's passing tourney earlier this month. He's been training w/ Brett Swain & Tim Vizzi.

Doesn't look like much of an athlete, I hope I'm wrong and he can produce at this level.

Agree with md about the athleticism but on ASR, Ruben Meza raves about his hands. Possession receiver.
"Won't you stay home, Jack Bailey, won't you stay home . . ."

Saw a picture of a young Larry Bird once. Didn't look like much of an athlete. I'm glad Smokey Gaines never recruited him.

Doesn't look like much of an athlete, I hope I'm wrong and he can produce at this level. He's not explosive, but I love how he can break ankles. I also love the athleticism. In a worst case scenario, his big size frame, hands, ability and willingness to block would allow for conversion to TE.

+1 Possession Receiver. He won't burn anybody but he'll get the tough yards (and move the chains).

According to the article on utsandiego he grew up going to Aztec basketball and football games.i think the biggest take away is him staying home...basketball has been good enough for long enough that for young kids from San Diego it is "cool" to go to SDSU, they will remember the basketball team and atmosphere as a kid and with a couple more consecutive winning seasons for football the kids growing up now will only know of the football program being a winning program. Like everyone says, winning solves everything

To honor JYP's passing, I will ask his question..."who else offered?"

Neat. I was wondering who would end up being SDSU's first local football commit this recruiting year
Been awhile since I've heard something about Torrey Pines HS. Back in the 1990s, you couldn't read about any local prep team without Torrey Pines being among the tops in that sport.

He had been training with Brett Swain and Tim Vizzi, I think he is a safe commit.

Doesn't look like much of an athlete, I hope I'm wrong and he can produce at this level. So I assume one making such a comment is a better athlete than he? If so, prove it. If not, rofl. Gawd I hope the kid, who happens to be someones son, doesn't read this and change his mind. TP - Do Work!!!!

Gawd I hope the kid, who happens to be someones son, doesn't read this and change his mind. TP - Do Work!!!! This is an OPINION board aztecsig. MY opinion is that very, very few parents ever read this stuff. If they do and take it to heart, they've got even bigger issues. Why would MD's opinion require him to be a better athlete than the person about whom he's discussing? You seem to be digesting and disgorging this in a personal way. Why?

Why? Well... For One, I am a parent of an athlete, and I know how much work they put into their craft. 2. My kid goes to Torrey Pines. 3. I just get tired of all the negative, heartless BS folks on this board barf up. 4. I, too, an entitled to my opinion. 5. Perhaps not all new members to the Aztec family, in case they happen to read these messages, are used to so many old jaded farts throwing around such BS comments about someone they have never met.
Did this answer your question?
