Congrats on landing Hemsley, he is a very good player. I know the Lobos offered him a long time ago but I do not think he was very interested in us. Anyways we have three 3* guards committed to us for 2015. I guess that's the best we can do is grab 3* guys.

A great way to start the 2015 Class. We got our guard and now we need our forward and center.

Read his twitter account and I appreciated that he thanked everyone who recruited him. Classy from a personal point of view young man. One thing that Fisher is consistent with is recruiting character people first and foremost.
Think he blends into the guard slot, the defense and go 40 minutes from line to line.

What's the over and under when Lobo fans show up to tell us they passed on him.... Welcome Jeremy!! Not with this one...no way they would pass on a top 60-70 player. He passed on them. I think you missed the sarcasm.

Fish did a lot with low ranked players for a long time.

You seem to have a good coach so just get players that play hard and fit his system and I'm sure you'll be fine. You still have one of the best home court advantages in america. Welcome to the mesa Jeremy!!!

Damn!! That is a big-time recruit. This will help land another top player or two for 2015.
I have a feeling that the Aztecs will be spending a lot of time in the AP Top 10 over the next three+ seasons.

Some really funny lines in this article. blogs.seattletimes.com/huskymensbasketball/2014/05/29/jeremy-hemsley-picks-san-diego-state/" the Huskies have got to question their standing on the west coast when San Diego State is viewed as a more favorable destination for top high school players. Granted the Aztecs posted a 31-5 record, which included a 70-63 win over Washington last season. They routinely sellout the 12,000-seat Viejas Arena. They’ve made five straight NCAA tourney appearances and advanced to the Sweet 16 last season. SDSU also has three players currently in the NBA. Still, it’s sobering to believe the new normal is a basketball world where a Mountain West team routinely trumps Pac-12 teams on the court and in recruiting."

For now, UNM and SDSU are not competing for the same recruits. Probably true but I like the rivalry so I hope UNM does land/develop some talent. I miss hating on BYU - that was fun. Just think...once the practice facility is complete we will be competing with AZ and UCLA for recruits...and Fish will never want to retire. LOL!

Would we still take his AAU teammate Stephen Thompson Jr ? I think Yes. No reason the two can not play together. In 2012 we started 4 guards. Thompson, Hemsley, and Kell could all get 30 minutes a game and still leave time for Shrigley, Pope, and whoever else forces their way onto the court. When those two play JJ, Polee, and maybe Shepard will be gone.
