www.themw.com/#!/news-detail/mw_14_m-footbl_sked_update1_04-10-14_uand3a 8 Appearances. 5 on CBSSN, 1 in ESPNU, and 2 on an ESPN/ABC Network. The Most Bonus Money we can collect is $1.0M Most likely only $500K, see the UNLV game being put to ESPNU. WoW, what a cluster. We absolutely got screwed. So nice to bere.

Nobody outside to SD cares about SDSU football and ESPN knows that. If SDSU brought in the the ratings SDSU games would be on ESPN. There is no hidden agenda. It's all about money. That's why most of the games are on CBSSN.
If SDSU was to go indy the games would be on Fox Sports San Diego and that's it.
SDSU football needs to become more interesting on a national level before ESPN starts selecting us for broadcasts.

If we went independent, we'd be able to schedule opponents that people outside SD care about.Same if we were in the AAC---even if we were playing Cinci, at least two geographical areas would draw at least a couple viewers. Almost no one is gonna be watching two Cal-State teams...not even people in those towns. Like Alabama?

Crickets from the "friends of the big money contract of the MGC...." They were loud when this pitiful contract was foisted upon us when we returned. Sadly, the "I told you so" people aren't gloating because it hurts too much. Get us out please.

UNLV stands to earn absolute zero in bonus dinero. If the Rebels, SDSU, Fresno and UNR had four pairs of balls, they would be talking today amongst each other about making a pitch to the WCC to join and, if that proved fruitful, to the AAC to join for football only. Even if the AAC didn't want us, the four of us could go independent by playing each other annually along with BYU. That's 1/3 of a schedule right there.

Something none have. In our case, we (alumni) don't put the pressure on our admin, so I don't blame them for playing it safe.

Well yeah I guess it's possible. (If you're being sarcastic I'm unable to detect it.) The issue isn't three or four OOC games...it's the wasteland of the next seven weeks that's gonna kill us. I believe he's trying to be witty, something that's a challenge coming from that keyboard. He's alluding to the chance to play at Alabama that we turned down- something I agreed with. There was no need to play them that year. Think CSU did instead. But yes I agree with you. Bring on Alabama if the schedule as an Independent allows it.

When will you guys realize that there is no alternative. For the for the near future it is only alternative. Make the best of it. How many of you locals are listening to the games on the internet (or TV ) instead of being at the game. I get to SD for at least one home game a year and I'm amazed that a number of posters in this thread a posting comment on the game threads instead of being at the stadium. Maybe if we fill up the stadium the additional revenue will give us more financial flexibility to hire a better coaching staff.
Hope to see some of you in No. Carolina.

If it was about scheduling quality opponents, Sterk would have agreed to the Alabama/ESPN deal. Besides that, I really don't understand what everyone is bitching about. SDSU won't make a trillion dollars off TV bonuses this year, but atleast the games will be shown on national TV instead of some bullcrap online stream. Then again, this board would crash if there was nothing to bitch about.
