8 games + 18 MWC games = 26 games. We have, at most, 5 more games. Our guys will be dog tired after the Maui Classic. We'll need an adequate amount of off days before the next game. That's the reason playing the USD midgets was so close after Anaheim.

Finals Week for SDSU December 11-17 . Game at Cincy 12/17 - could be important for our rankings - wonder if they could slide it towards the 20th

Finals Week for SDSU December 11-17 . Game at Cincy 12/17 - could be important for our rankings - wonder if they could slide it towards the 20th The game or the finals? I am sure there still exists the possibility of taking the finals early or later by arrangement with the instructor. EDIT: According to the NCAA in the O'Bannon suit ... academics are the primary focus of the student-athlete and practices and games are voluntary and should be secondary to the scholarship athletes education.

Tell that to most of the players.

Northridge at viejas in november? What is the Aztecs first win of the season? Matadors have three transfers 6'6" Amir Garrett St Johns, 6'10" Kevin Johnson Seton Hall and 6'10" Davonte Elliot from Nevada. They also return there top three scorers. Reggie Theus may make it interesting this year.

None of those 3 transfers would start for the Aztecs. None started for their teams. The Matadors did lose one of their top 3 scorers, Josh Greene. Josh Greene's highlights for 2013-201443.1% on 181 three point tries. 91.4% on 185 Free Throw attempts. 115 Assists. 16 points per game. 35.9 minutes a game. In his 16 conference games he was 94-98 shooting free throws. The Matadors were #1 in the NCAA in FT% (79.1%) The Matadors were #8 in the NCAA in FTA (967) The Matadors were #2 in Free Throws made (765). Josh Greene was a big part of that. No CSN player shot FT less than 70%. It will be an interesting game since SDSU is good at not fouling (41st fewest Opp FTA). To beat CSN, keep them off the free throw line. The big difference in the game will be defense. CSN was 330th in points allowed while the Aztecs were #2.

Believe the March Madness selection group has sent a message out to coaches set up a decent OOC schedule . Play some top 50 or top 100 teams , that includes both road and neutral court games . Keep the easy games to a minimum. They also showed the MW last year that we are most likely a two bid league unless more teams show they can win quality OOC games and games in March Madness . Aztecs and UNLV have made efforts to have a decent OOC schedule . If the BSU, Lobos, CSU .... teams want a bid to MM or even NIT they better make a solid effort . Because once the MW conference starts you are not going to gain many points . The bottom level teams in the MW do not really matter- even though many are terrible places to travel to . Coach Fisher has to put together a decent OOC schedule as he has been doing .Decent T's and playing some quality teams , even some on the road . even Northridge is better then the St .Kate's , McNeese , Christian ... games . Know it is not easy you only have a limited budget to pay teams to come here, dates teams can play and need to make sure we have some easier wins. Sure wish other MW teams ,that hope to get a bid , got the message. Do think it would be wiser to try to move the game at Cincy 12.17 to the end of the week , guys are taking finals , will not have much practice time . Game could be important in the ratings . Putting together a decent OOC is not an easy job .

Cincy has finals Dec 8-13 . They have a game 12/2 . no games Dec 3-7. Maybe if the Aztcs asked now they could move it to some where between December 4-7 . Could be important road game for the Aztecs .

Any word on who the non-D1s will be this year? It'll be 2 of either UCSD, Point Loma, CSU San Marcos, San Diego Christian, or St. Katherine

No words on the local cupcakes, but Fish has scheduled San Marcos as an exhibition game the past few years. Nice warm up but doesn't contribute to the CA win streak.

Did the Big East Basketball agreements fall apart when the football league imploded? I know that we're planning Cincy this year, but we also were supposed to play games against UConn and Memphis St.
Lastly, is Kansas coming to Viejas for the 2015-2016 season and that home and home agreement? Any word there?
