He has about 18 months to decide where he wants to play . The new facility being built helps . Could be nice if Josh Davis gets some PT in the NBA and Aztecs do well this year . Think if Spencer / Chol/ Cheatham also do well would add the thought that the Aztecs can develop players. He will most likely sign in November 2015. That is 16 months. He will most likely have given a verbal some time before that. He has maybe 14 months - not 18 months. Fingers crossed.

I've said this for 3 years-- MJ Cage to SDSU has everything to do with what Michael Cage thinks of Coach Dutcher.

I had a dream last night that he signed with the Aztecs.
I've got it bad...

The other schools are probably making other top 5 recruits at the 4 and 5 their priority.

Here's a recent article from Tucson.com. I like the fact that MJ is still driving down to San Diego to play ball at the Muni Gym. He is atop target for U of A. This year they've pulled in both Justin Simon and Ray Smith (both targets that were on our list.) it would be great to steal one away.
-- Even without Stanley Johnson, Mater Dei continues to attract UA's heavy attention because of power forward M.J. Cage. The son of former San Diego State and NBA standout Michael Cage, M.J. could be one of UA's top 2016 targets. He's smart on the court, with good touch in passing and shooting. Plus, he's a documented gym rat, driving from L.A. to San Diego's Muni Gym to play pickup ball with his father often, sometimes several times a week.

Little doubt it could be Arizona, Kentucky , Kansas and SDSU plus you know USC or UCLA will try to get him .

I 100% guarantee that Junior is coming to SDSU. I have no inside information other than just chatting with his dad several times and not even about Junior, but I am absolutely guaranteeing it.

I understand how important keeping the pipeline full is but it's hard for me to get excited about prospects this young when what we have currently is so special. Nothing worse than rooting for a team when the only source of excitement is how a potential recruit may finally rise the program to relavence. What Fish has built affords us the luxury of not having to depend on any single recruit to choose SDSU. We will pick up some, lose on others BUT we are now always in the conversation. Would it be great to get Cage, of course. If he chooses to go elsewhere, that's fine too.
I can't look 2 years down the road when I'm so effin amped about this years squad. Can't freggin wait till opening tip off.......

The way I look at it, we've got a dry month... A few football games as a warmup... And it's go time. Don't know if it's going to be this year or not, but sometime real soon something real special is gonna happen on the Mesa.

I am taking that to the bank. I haven't seen Michael Cage in person since we lived in LaMesa next to his cheerleader friend in the Mid 80s.

There is no lock until ,you see his name on the dotted line on signing day , when you are battling the top teams in the country . Is interesting to note the M. Cage Jr is rated #28 in Rivals for 2016 and there are 8 guys 6'8" or taller rated higher then him .

Well, as of today, these schools have offered besides us: Arizona, Gonzaga, Kentucky, UCLA, USC, Washington Certainly more schools to offer in the upcoming year.

would be great if SDSU invites former Aztecs - the foundation of the Basketball program when they have the official ground breaking ceremony . Including M.Cage Sr.

Putting Jayce Johnson (the next JJ) in the middle would make life much better for a PF like MJ Cage. Just do it!

Today's P5 vote just made it that much harder on SDSU basketball. It changes the rules for 65 schools across the board and impacts all athletic departments budgets and bottom lines. I hope MJ Cage is a 'company man.'
