They have some play-makers plus a top 20 recruiting class coming in. A Win in Chapel Hill will be a huge step for our mighty Aztecs!

Freshman WR and KOR Switzer is the real deal. Team speed is amazing. Fedora has done a lot with this team. Top 20 recruiting class ta boot. We'll have a very tough time.

As far as impact players, theylose Renner (QB) Hurst (OL) Ebron (TE)Jabari Price (CB) Boston (S)Blue (RB)Martin (DE)
Returning will be Tapley (WR) Morris (RB) Williams (QB) Logan(RB)Switzer (WR/ST) and Davis (WR) that have shown to be a threat from what I have seen. John Heck played well on the defense, but that side of the ball is losing their proven talent, but should be restocked. They are bringing in a good recruiting class too, so they expect some freshmen to step up right away. 3-3-5 may work against them, but they are going to pound the ball and have a QB that is mobile, with a decent arm.
Can't wait for that game.

which I do not expect to happen. Are you going with the "even a blind squirrel gets a nut" approach? I'm thinking 0-2. History PROVES me right.

It's yet another benchmark game for SDSU. Another BCS team (this one from a lower level conference than Oregon State) team that wins about half its league games. Same goes for Oregon State. Both are on the road I think which will presumably be the excuse if we lose, which I do not expect to happen. They have turned the corner and Fedora has them moving in the right direction rapidly. They've really looked impressive as their Freshmen and Sophomores are making noise now. The top 20 recruiting class is impressive. This went from a good match-up when we scheduled it in September to a very tough road game now. They'll be at the top of the ACC and challenge for second place next season.

I watched the game intently yesterday as I have over the past few years, have you or just looking at a static single stat? This team that he has is slowly incorporating the young players and the combination of a top 20 National recruiting class is indicative of the direction he has them going. I am not prone to overreaction, thanks.

JYP might be overreacting to their league record; North Carolina is 13-2 at home over the last five years in non-conference games. SDSU winning at North Carolina would be an upset; expect UNC to be favored.

Two home losses were to East Carolina, a bowl team, and a ranked LSU team. They have beaten Louisville at home. ACC is nowhere near as weak as the MWC; UNC usually is playing 2-4 ranked teams every year.

That's how you measure how good a team is in relation to the rest of its league. A team can play its OOC games against anybody ranging from Eastern Illinois to Ohio State. My guess is that UNC beat all the Eastern Illinoises and lost to both Ohio States. Did they beat a quality team in OOC play, either home or away? You might be right that their 13-2 at home in OOC is impressive. Let me check since I have time and I'm not hung over. I'll get back to you. Perhaps but sometimes records don't tell the story, do they? You have to watch them play and see the story behind the stats. Please see my above for the trending story behind the stats. I note that you indicate you haven't actually seen what they have done other than their record. Not a criticism, just an observation. Fedora has them on a trajectory that hasn't yet reflected in their record, next year portends to be a leap ahead and the year after should be competitive with FSU. Bookmark this.

JYP, UNC isn't trying to build a program. It's recruiting has been good for years. They had a terrible start this year, but they are a good team. Writing as if they are not is silly. I have watched them the last two years, and I can tell you, it is going to be tough game for SDSU. Don't expect a win, but that's why they play the game.

I watched them play last night (well for about half the game). They beat the $#!+ out of Cincinnati, yet another team who beat (almost) every bad team they played while losing to every mediocre-to-good one. They also lost to South Florida (2-10). They looked great last night, but you have to look at the competition. Had SDSU played Mesa College in a bowl game, we'd look dominant too. You do realize the irony of this post, right?

Perhaps but sometimes records don't tell the story, do they? Perhaps they don't, but IMO they pretty much always do. Winning teams win games, and good teams win games against good teams. There isn't a lot more to it than that. It is his second season, the first is always tough but in this case, with the sensational recruiting class, the growth of the freshmen and sophomores late in this season and the bowl performance against a decent team (no one said they were Alabama), the trend line is up. See my notes above. Bookmark my comments about next season and the follow on. It is the detail behind the numbers based upon observation.

Come on John, I know you are prone to occasional hyperbole but...this is a bit out there. :-)

They had a terrible start because that's when they played all the good teams on their schedule. Their strong finish came against weak sisters and included a loss to Duke, the only "good" team they played during that stretch. As someone who actually watched Tar Heel football, I can tell you the nd of the season Heels were much better than the beginning. Marquise Williams is going to be a threat. And why are you using "" to downplay dook? They are a good team, as much as it pains me to say. If you watched ACC football, I think your attitude would change, but it seems as if you are looking superficially at stats and names. would you care to give your thoughts on this game, and how it will play out?

I think we should win. I expect us to win. I hope we do win. I doubt we'll win. Outside of UNC being an ACC school that wins about half of its conference games, what is/are the factual basis(es) for your first two statements?

UNC is not as good as BSU was last year, not quite as good as the Beavers were this year, so I think we will fit in real nice against them. No reason we can't win.
