Classy post! Thanks, dimwhit. Generally I'm in favor of rooting for conference teams in any OOC games. (... with BYU when they were in the conference an exception...) It would be nice to see SDSU - Boise State turn into a solid rivalry, at least as much of a rivalry as you can have playing in different divisions. Meeting every year in the MWC championship game in future years would be a good start. Well, considering we're 1-2 against you guys, I think we have a good rivalry started. Certainly from our point of view! I'm hoping we even up the series before we have to take a two year break. I do wish we could play every year, but oh well. You're right…we'll just have to work on some annual championship games between us. I like the sound of that. 2 year break? Is the whole University going on Mormon Mission? LOL. Your whole team will be like BYU, 26 years old with grand kids.

I like the sound of that too. Boise fans are respectable and always courteous. Also, I'm trying to figure out a way to go to the game, but with a baby due early Jan I don't know if I can leave the wife. Classy post! Thanks, dimwhit. Dec.21......so much for 2 weeks of extra practice...this must be the 1st Bowl game. Bowl teams are only allowed 15 practices. So yes, by playing on the 21st, we won't be able to get all 15 in, but we won't miss out on 2 weeks of practice lol. Most teams don't even use all 15 allotted practices. Plus at this point of the season, every team is well seasoned. The techniques and conditioning is expected and over with. At this point, you are only implementing what buffalo runs into our scout teams and repetitively running our counter plays. Takes well less than 15 practices, plus majority of the learning is done in meetings, and practice is just to execute what you learned and fix some things. I could see us going Monday through Saturday, with 2-3 of those being no contact, just helmets walkthroughs. Then next week being like any other game week: Light walk through monday, tues-thurs practice, friday walkthrough. So we will get about 10 practices in. Well enough. Quality over Quantity.

I really hope Boise doesn't suck in the next few years. Who else can help us quantify how good we are? ...and that's all I have to say about that. I have a feeling Boise's days as the BCS darling are over. Petersen was the catalyst and he can't be replaced. He was a once in a 25yr coach. He should do great at Washington.

Nice for the boys, but not exactly somewhere fans would want to go for a pre Christmas vacation. Never been there, anything to do but football. Want to go to game , just a great deal of money to spend if nothing to do. Not exactly New Orleans , that was a blast, bad game but a great time. Actually, I would bet the players don't even want to go to this bowl. San Diego, Hawaii, Dallas, even New Mexico, but who puts a bowl game in Boise. SJSU probably didn't want to go. Can the team just take the money for events, spend it on attractions in San Diego, then just fly out like a normal game, the day before. Yeah I'm sure they don't want to play on national TV again. They're football players, it's what they do, to think they don't want to play another game is just ridiculous.

Boise did very well before Petersen, and the'll continue to do well after Petersen. That program has been a winner almost every year. They moved up in divisions multiple times and kept winning at each new level. I don't expect them to play for a National Championship, but I do expect them to be good for 8-10 wins per season annually. Petersen inherited a great program. He did a lot with it, but he walked into a great situation that most coaches can only dream about.

As for the Potato Bowl, I'm glad we're in - that helps mitigate the disappointment of the season as far as recruiting goes. I just hope that we can win this one.

Hello Aztec fans. Buffalo looks forward to the Potato Bowl against you. The fan forum for the Bulls is www.ubbullrun.com/. This is the second bowl game for Buffalo. UB did turn down the 1958 Tangerine Bowl not allowing Buffalo to bring African American players. This is a hard game to get to for Bulls fans. $1100 plus plane ticket and not a drive to undertake. Can I find a volunteer to do a Q&A on your time. Of course I will answer your questions as well.

UB did turn down the 1958 Tangerine Bowl not allowing Buffalo to bring African American players. I saw a documentary/or segment on that. I think it was "Outside the Lines". Compelling.

I saw a lot of the Buffalo/Ohio State game. Final score, Ohio State-40, Buffalo-20. But you should not be fooled by that score. The Bulls played the Buckeyes tough. In fact, much better than we played the next week.
I would NOT count on a W in this one. We certainly CAN win, but a performance even close to as bad as we had against EI or UNLV will mean disaster.
My hope is that the team, from Rocky on down, is very, very eager to put things right after the UNLV sleepwalk.

ATTENTION FELLOW AZTECS: We hate trolls here, so please remember that if you register and post there, DO NOT TROLL!!! That would be particularly classless in this case since we barely snuck into this bowl and given the debacle in the desert, actually BACKED IN. Welcome to our board, Mr. Bull. May the game be a worthwhile watch.
