This kid has bounced around a lot. Started last year at Orangewood Academy, then transferred to San Gabriel Academy. Now, according to his twitter account he has transferred from Seattle to a school in Chicago.

At Kansas he'll have an excellent view of Devonte Graham playing PG. His father may not approve.

Do we want him? What's the holdup?

PG wouldn't seem to be a position of need with Williams, Zabo, & apparently Kell all able to play the position.
I'd imagine the decision could be that better value for the scholarship might be had by holding onto it for a transfer.

Where are we on this dude? Let Kansas or anyone else take him. We don't need that in the Locker Room. 4 high schools in 3 states in the last 3 years? And size matters for 2016 and beyond. ballislife.com/marcus-lovett-chicago/

Does he have issues or just moved around?
Zylan attended 3 high schools. He seems like a great kid. This guy could be or could not be, moving around isn't good but not a deal breaker depending on the reason

This from the Daily Illini 10/7 it sounds like he may have school issues on top of all the moves for CA, to Seattle and now the Midwest.
"..It seems that John Groce and his staff are in wait-and-see mode on LoVett, and for good reason. Even though he’s generating a lot of buzz right now, you have to look at the circumstances surrounding his recruitment to understand why he’s perhaps being overlooked and over hyped at the same time.
Though LoVett has suited up for Chicago’s Mac Irvin Fire AAU team in the past, this will be his first season playing high school ball in Chicago’s Public League. LoVett played his first two high school seasons in California, averaging 31.7 and 36.7 points per game as a freshman and sophomore, respectively.
These eye-popping numbers would normally generate overwhelming interest from schools eyeing LoVett’s services, but so far he only holds two other offers from San Diego State and UC-Irvine. He is also ranked as a fringe Top 100 prospect by most recruiting services.
It seems LoVett isn’t getting tons of love from schools and rankings because of his nomadic basketball career. Transferring high schools multiple times is usually a red flag for coaches, and then there are rumors that LoVett’s transcripts might not allow him to qualify for college. He also didn’t participate in the premiere AAU events and showcases over the past summer, further dropping his rankings and diverting college coaches’ attention elsewhere..."

your link also shows he has an offer and had a visit from Kansas . So are you suggesting Aztecs make a real push or pass ? Early signing week is 11/12 - 11/19 . We should have an idea of our current guards plus our current HS guard recruit by then ?

He played at 2 schools in LA, then went to Seattle only to end up in Chicago this year. Even though he is a 4-star kid, schools haven't flocked to sign him. I think we have plenty of talent at PG, no need to take a chance on a distraction. He did team up with Jamal Crawford of the Clippers at a Pro/Am and showed off his stuff. The kid can handle the ball like a magician.

I like the fact that we give kids a chance who are looked over, hurt, "red-flagged", etc. and give them a chance under a damn good coach (and staff) of young men. If we are interested, he definitely looks to have a HIGH ceiling. If the staff wants him, I'd be ecstatic he's here.

SDSU offered him when he was like a sophomore, it's pretty obvious we aren't recruiting him.

According to 24/7, he has continued to pick up offers: Kansas, Illinois, DePaul, St Jonhs, St Joes, Tennessee, Oregon St, Washignton, UCI, UCLA, U oF A, USC, Indiana and SDSU? Skinny is after 4 HS he can't make grades? Feedback?
