Anthony Mathis, 4 star SG in the 2015 class, is pretty interested in playing for SDSU. He said that "SDSU has always been one of my favorite schools to watch" and "of course I would consider playing there" ask.fm/Mathis290/answer/63245376284Anthony Mathis 6'3'' 170 SG 4 Star Recruit Class of 2015 West Linn, OR www.verbalcommits.com/players/anthony-mathisWe should offer this kid! UNM was over the limit as well. Mutual choice. Wouldn't be surprised to see him playing in Eugene. The Ducks are decimated in the front and back court, 5 spots left to fill.
..."Mathis’ best friend since high school is Payton Pritchard, the star point guard at Oregon, their home state. Pritchard last week withdrew his name from consideration from this year’s NBA Draft and announced he would return for his final season at Oregon, which is where former Lobo Elijah Brown played as a graduate transfer two seasons ago after leaving UNM."...https://www.abqjournal.com/1323448

hurts Lobos but they did add others - he is grad transfer put his name in Portal, so can go where he chooses - prefers Ducks but says No contact from the school
So does not really involve SDSU

Mostly likely headed to Eugene * PT * Home state * Players he is familiar you * However, tampering hanging over it?

The lobos just cant catch a break. Last year it was Jaquon Lyle getting hurt, this year it's losing one of their top guards/players to transfer. Right when it looks like they might be pretty good..
They might have a stocked cupboard but he was still going to probably lead their guards in minutes

they have numerous guys on the 14 man roster still 1 over the limit so would need one to become a walk on - Lobos do get both Vance and Lyle for 2019 - Vance is going to want to be the go to guy with the ball to get ready for 2020 NBA draft Would guess that Mathis got a call from his HS team mate in Oregon and is getting numerous other calls - including Michigan
So can add to MW transfer out group and close this thread or start one of MW rosters for 2019 - 20 season

He was going to be one of new mexico’s best players
