I actually was hoping they'd repeal the Affordable Care Act so we could go down this road. It's the only way to fix the system, and we'll get there eventually, but the ACA probably pushed back the timetable another 20 years.

You can't add 30 million people to the rolls and reduce Medicare by $500 billion and think things will add up.

You can't add 30 million people to the rolls and reduce Medicare by $500 billion and think things will add up. Very simple. Everyone who works pays. They and their employer pay a premium. This includes the CEO at Intel as well as the kid flipping burgers at Jack-in-the-box. Everyone pays into Medicare right now anyway. Just increase the percentage.

I would also throw in all government pensions go into social security fund.

Everybody means exactly that. I would also throw in all government pensions go into social security fund. Disagree but I believe that all employees should have always participated in Social Security. Allowing a select set to withdraw was a mistake. Some will make out fine. Others, such as teachers, get screwed.

Everybody means exactly that. We might be getting close to being on the same page. Now it is into what does "Medicare for all" mean. If it is all who work and pay premiums are currently insured and those working a qualifying number of quarters (to be defined)are fully insured, we are getting close. No illegals at emergency rooms without some agreement for reimbursement from their home country.

Well now, you are asking emergency rom personnel to determine exactly who they will treat, based on one thing other than how sick the patient is. As a registered nurse, I really need to object to that. Sick people are sick people.

I wonder if something strange is going on on this new site. The comments attributed to me in the above quote are actually those by Win.

As a registered nurse, I really need to object to that. Sick people are sick people. Not at all, just follow a set of rules put in place. It might put some pressure on the Federal Government to get other countries to take responsibility for their own people.

And now the unions don't like or want obamakare . Where is the lame stream media on this? Does it make you feel inferior using a term made famous by Sarah Palin? I'm sure you saw prices came in 50% lower than expected in new york, yea? And I'm also sure you saw the california numbers...
