I get so tired of some our so called fans blasting a player after sub-par performance. Take your weak $#!+ somewhere else. Rahman had nothing tomdo with the loss. The entire team can play interior defense and they can't make a layup either. Shepherd has nice moves but can make a layup. Jamal thinks he is Kobe and can't make a three. Say it like it is Vegas out played us. I hope this is a wake up call. Shep made buckets, Maal made buckets. The whole point of the game is to make the orange ball go into the round cylinder.

Sheppard had a very good game. He's going to get better at finishing big time, but he played a great game tonight. I don't understand why Fish stopped Sheppard from attacking the hoop in the 2nd half. He gave us much more than we expected. You are correct about Franklin. Once again, he tried/tries to do too much and forced his game. He needs to stop shooting 3's!

Rahon could not make a basket from the outside and JJ'O could not make the majority of his shots from around the basket. He was 4 of 10 on lay ups/tip ins. Polee and Johnson deserve some minutes.

He only took three shots (and missed all three) but Thames missed all his shots too (0-5).

Thames has a bad back and Tapley is recovering from the flu. In a close game like this one it might have contributed to the loss.

Regarding Thames tonight, fisher suggested on his post-game comments that his back was bothering him. Yeah, stephans disappointed but Bennett only scored nine, and had been averaging 19. ya gotta stop the coast to coast layups!!!!!!

Right after Tom and Tec have their hoop-off, it looks like we've got a challenger for Rahon in a 3-point shooting contest.
Hey, the players don't bash you when you overcook their fries, hopefully you'll show them the same respect when they have an off night.
Plenty of fingers to point tonight if that makes you feel better, but what does that accomplish? Regroup and be prepared for a tough road trip to Laramie.

Like most streaky shooters those first couple shots Rahon takes are so important. When he hits the first couple you see him with that confidence that a shooter needs. Conversely when he misses those first couple shots you just see a kid who looks very down on himself and begins to look very hesitant and like his head is elsewhere.
Did Rahon have a bad game? Absolutely. Am I ready to cut him and proclaim him the worst shooter on the team? Absolutely not. There is a long way to go for this team. Rahon will hit some big shots for this team before it's all done.

We don't win @fresno without Rahon +1. Rahon was huge vs USC as well. He is a streaky shooter who will have good nights and bad nights.

During warm ups, both me and the guy who sits next to me noticed Rahon was killing it. 4/5 from NBA range. However, in the game - total head case. Not even close. Not jsut Rahon, 3/19 from three = we deserve to lose. That is just terrible for a team with heavy guard play. X needs to face his physical limitations and let Shep take it from here. Last year when X was hurt, he put that hurt on the next 8 games. X is only good when he is not injured. Why oh why did we sit shrigley? That was not a good move. Why let talent sit on the shelf? What good is that?

Xman has a bad back. Don't know what Rahon's problem is but I thought it might be a mistake to redshirt Shrigley. They asked Franklin to redshirt and he refused. He ended up helping them offensively at the end of his freshmen season and now they are talking about him leaving early for the NBA so obviously not redshirting was the right move.

One of the reasons we lost is because Rahon didn't give us a stat line like the one below. Streaky shooter, bad shooter, great shooter, best defender on the team, whatever you want to call him he didn't give the team what we needed to be able to pull off that win. It happens more often than not and bad players are exposed when you play good quality teams. Who cares what he did against Fresno? That's like saying he had a great game against PLNU so playing bad against UNLV is okay. Great teams find it unacceptable to play bad against bad teams. Until our fan base has this mindset we will just be one of those teams that still hasn't made it over the hump. I'm not satisfied with going to the NCAA tourney each year and getting bounced the first round.

Dumb thread, they guy carried us on the road at Fresno State. Some huge 3's.
Yes he is streaky though, also he does not get enough credit for his D.

Marshall went for 20 when he averages 9. Plus you make it sound like he carried us against Duke. He made some baskets against Fresno!! I don't even think he'd be bragging to his friends that he went off against Fresno.
