"I just had to find a way to get buckets"
After naming my firstborn CTap, I will also be tattooing said child with that quote.

CSU had 51 total rebounds. Holy crap. We had 34. Yeah, they killed us on boards and 50/50 balls all game. That was why I wasn't comfortable with a 18 pt lead at the half. The reality is, every game in conference we have to be ready to battle. As long as we don't have injuries it will be good for us.

CSU had 51 total rebounds. Holy crap. We had 34. It sure felt like they were killing us on the boards. Three players in double figures.

That's a pretty good team we just beat. BTW, covered the spread in the end. Not that that matters.

CSU had 51 total rebounds. Holy crap. We had 34. CSU reminds me a lot of our team from two years ago. We couldn't shoot, but it didn't really matter because we pounded the boards so well. The only way we'd make points is if we got two or three cracks at it. CSU missed 48 shots. They shot 36% from the field. They're good at offensive rebounding. So their rebound numbers are going to be skewed. Additionally, we shot 45% from behind the arc, but only 33% from inside the arc. (What's up with that?) We missed 38 shots. Again, lots of rebounding opportunities. Finally, Iverson is a beast. One of the best big men I've seen in a while. We need to figure out how to play guys like that and neutralize them. Either drive at them early and often and get them into foul trouble. Or double down on them and deny them the pass into the post. I think Fish should've perhaps gone with a Spencer/Stephens combo or Stephens/Johnson combo about mid-way through the second half. We're going to run into some bigs in the Tourney and need to figure that out.

Not good when you blow an 18 point lead, they need to come up big in OT and win this. I think they need to keep Tapley on the bench, he is obviously completely sick and ineffective tonight. After watching that kid for almost 4 years, I have learned to never underestimate what he can do. No one is/was tougher, ever, at SDSU.

We won't get any help from the zebras at CSU so they'll have to work around him.

Yet, they're highly ranked as a rebounding team. You gotta ask, are the MWC refs failing to call fouls on them for their overly aggressive fight for position under the boards or their over the top rebounding? The disparity is mind boggling. Could it be that they tell the refs beforehand that this is the way we play so you can't punish us? They might get away with it in the MWC, but not in the NCAA tourney. Without that advantage they'll be one and done since they can't shoot.

The Oracle likes CSU and will be keeping an eye on that team. As someone else said in another thread, they are playing B12, physical basketball. The Oracle loves that and the MWC needs it to toughen up our players for the big dance.
The Oracle's bias for SDSU aside, but this conference should welcome players like Colton Iverson at any given opportunity.
