So what exactly did our AD say? Only thing I've see is that we're moving full steam ahead (to BE) or the MW TV deal doesn’t provide enough revenue and national exposure... who could disagree with that? Again, what is it that you think he said? +1 I don't recall him being anything but courteous and professional.

I don't have the exact quotes, but rather than say " we look forward to our new opportunities...", he made some gratuitous remarks about the inferiority of the MWC. Boise obviously thought the same but didn't express it in words. Fine to say it, unless you have to come crawling back. Don't quite get the angst against SDSU and the LOVE for Boise State if they said the same thing. And why does SDSU need to suffer a little pain? The number 1 media market in the MWC, highest average attendance, won the conference in football and basketball. Why do they need to suffer while Boise State gets ALL the money? BSU may have thought it but they didn't say it. I found the November quote, there was one much earlier that I can't locate. • Sterk said the difference between the Big East and the Mountain West on the field is a big one. "There is a big separation between where we are now and where we're going," Sterk said.

My goodness you are correct the MWC should never, and I mean never ever, allow SDSU back in their fine conference. Your work here is finished!

You know you are coming back to MWC. Your attempt to get to a better league and more money was a good decision at the time, but not anymore. You will be more accepted (assuming the conference teams allow you to come back, which would not be an issue except for your athletic director's unnecessary shots) if you stop badmouthing your future conference. I want to see you come back to the MWC, as it is a good decision for the league but a little pain on the terms is just. A little pain on the terms? If so, then off to the BE we should go. The MWC isn't worth any more pain than just being a member of the conference entails. You want to see us back in the MWC? Why? Why is it a good decision for the league? It's doubtful that it is a good decision for SDSU. We have another option. We don't need any of your "pain."

I hated the Mwc before. After having so many Mwc guests here the past several weeks, my hatred has increased markedly.

Why they caved in to them I still don't completely understand. Survival of the MWC I guess.

I want to see you come back to the MWC, as it is a good decision for the league but a little pain on the terms is just. A little pain on the terms is just? How so? So SDSU can shut down it's football program because of funding shortfalls? Let's face it, any pain taking revenue down further will eventually kill the program. Something tells me that's what you'd like to see. The conference needs us more than we need it right now. If the nBE falls apart then the tables will be turned. But at this point it's all about survival. SDSU has to find a way to allow it's athletic programs to survive intact. The MWC hasn't exactly been doing a good job of providing a conference that would support a thriving athletic department over the last several years. If it had done a good job at that SDSU would never have agreed to go to the nBE. If you really want to see SDSU drop football and that's why you're posting here then I've got one message for you - Go home.

I get what you're trying to do, but surely you don't expect this to work, right? No, I have seen too much of the personalities of many posters to expect them to change. When SDSU stunk it up in football, I readily said so. Often. Your school is miserable in football these days yet you expect me to not say that? Sorry, but I strive for honesty. Particularly as an attorney, so should you.

Do we stink in football these days, yes. Still not the smart thing for SDSU to say when in the future you ask to come back. Do you think Sterk would have said it if he thought there was a chance you would come back to the MWC? Of course not. Boise did not make any comments like that and there are no hard feelings from the MWC to Boise. SDSU has been wanting to come back for a while already. Don't you think Boise talked to them before they put your "option" in their contract with the MWC?

My idea of "a little pain" is that you don't get your forfeited 2013 MWC payout (which Boise is getting in the amount of 2.5 million). Actions have consequences. I would pay your exit fee (hopefully negotiated downward) from the Big West. On all other terms you would be treated the same as all of the current teams.

Don't you think Boise talked to them before they put your "option" in their contract with the MWC? I won't disagree with anything you say. That doesn't change the fact that having several of the absolute worst football teams in the country every year as the MWC recently has isn't destroying the conference's chance for long-term survival. And if you think SDSU's AD will never say anything about that when he occasionally gets together with his peers, I think you're being naive. But yes, I get the distinction between that and public criticism of the conference.

When SDSU stunk it up in football, I readily said so. Often. As I recall, we were fairly self deprecating with our situation as a football program, and we still, as a fanbase, took a TON of $#!+ from fans of MWC schools. As for me, I'm just dishing it back.
