Why would Boise want to form a new conference with us when they're getting such a sweet heart deal from the MWC? I also don't see why SMU and UH would be interested in such a conference, seems to me the nBE is a pretty sweet deal for them. Finally, why would any members of the MWC (after years of being bled dry by Boise) want to join a new conference with the Broncos? Because with the rest of the MW getting such a small piece of the pie, the teams that actually have something to offer (a fanbase) will want more, they will leave for the new western Division of said hypothetical conference and Boise will not want to stay with whatever is left. Not saying that will happen, just explaining the reasoning behind it.

Well said Dave, and I back your vision as well. We need to stay the course with the Big East, and break away from the comfort of the herd.

Idaho paper making my point (with kid gloves)...they Punked the MW. Link Interesting. How is it possible to write an article like that, and have it be credible and cogent, when SDSU---the big elephant in the room---is not mentioned once, even obliquely?

The compare and contrast could not be greater.
UT - 5 page expose diving into the details with a Pro and Con. IS - 200 word article with quotes from the Con Bob Kustra.
Wow, Boise is a cow town as well. God Bless.

I love the last sentence about beating the bully, as I said in the other thread, the Bully got it's nose broken by SDSU and ran to the mountains.

With lil' $#!+ leaving UNR, ain't no one left to punch them in the face and run to the ski slopes. Fresno, Utah State and San Jose state can keep piling on the losses. The MWC minus SDSU is something like 8-48 all time vs tater borg --- I think that's what they wanted more than anything, just run through the conference, the two teams that beat them in the MWC are gone, get multiples more money than the other teams so they can never challenge/develop, and try to get into the fiesta bowl couple times a decade.

Tater Borg: It's not the same conference we joined! Thank god it's now easier without TCu, SDSU and the miserable F coach at UNR. We'll never lose again

A conference that puts one or a few members in a better postion then the others will not hold together.
I want a conference that believes that the overall success of the conference will make all the members stronger and make them more money split and divided in a fair way.
That is not the MWC but could be the BE.

Why would Boise want to form a new conference with us when they're getting such a sweet heart deal from the MWC? More $$$. More $$$. Finally, why would any members of the MWC (after years of being bled dry by Boise) want to join a new conference with the Broncos? More $$$. The only ones that stand to make more money would be the 4 MWC institutions. So this project wouldn't even get off the ground.

That is not the MWC but could be the BE. I think it's a tough call, especially when you are a non-"BCS" conference. Obviously, you want everyone to be on a fair playing field so they can compete, however, you also want to invest in the programs that highlight your league. Playing it 100% equal may make things more fair, however, they allow Chuck Long and Tom Craft to stick around longer than they should have. However, Boise seemed to get a too beneficial deal. I would guess that having some bonus for national TV would be fair, (not $300k/$500k) and the school which goes to a bowl game gets a larger share of that bowl revenue than one that doesn't. (Not 50/50 as Boise got...)
