I think that the MWC TV deal will not make schools like Fresno and UNLV happy and they will be looking for a way out in a year or two. They will jump to the BE. I think they'll be looking for a way out in a month or two.

Now I am concerned, because the BE is the better choice. If most are thinking BE, then there must be something wrong with the crowd? ;D walkonfan....

The way I see it ..... we have just as much in common with the fans in Cincinnati as we do with fans in Laramie or Albuquerque. I get a kick out of posters that talk about 'regional' rivalries. The BE is not without risk but we need to whatever we can to us ratchet ourselves up another level. BE (I hope)

Boise's special deal with the MWC is so destabilizing that it signals the beginning of the end of the conference. So if you're Vegas or Fresno, why wait around to get hosed for two years? With the C7 troublemakers out of the way, Aresco can push ahead with forming a true western division, which he apparently really wants to do. I'm guessing he and Sterk are on the phones with the soon-to-be-screwed MWC members making their case as we speak, and simultaneously trying to use the leverage of potential new members in talks with Fox and NBCSN.

The new BE teams can't vote on conference matters until then. It's pretty obvious that UConn and Cincy have been blocking the creation of a western division.

The single biggest benefit to joining the BE is the guaranteed BCS bowl potential next year.....after that, who knows what is better? If the money is right then we'll know. I kinda feel for the oly sport athletes, taking road trips to Wyo, NM, Colorado are much more fun than a bus ride to empty venues.

I still vote BE assuming BE vs MWC are the only realistic choices

This is an interesting example of the power of the pen. The Z article was very well written, factual and not an effort to persuade someone to reach a conclusion. Some who by strong opinion are MWC advocates may disagree and resort to the old UT denigration response, but all in all it was a fair and clear article. Prior to this article my sense of the boards opinion on the subject was about a 50/50 split, give or take. The split is now overwhelmingly for the nBE, at least insofar as this poll reflects it accurately. I just find it interesting how a straightforward no nonsense article trumps the hyperbole and rabid opinions previously expressed--consider the Matt Calkins UT article. I'd hasten to add I'm not making this observation in support of either conclusion, just commenting on how the power of good writing in the day of "everything you read on the internet is correct" strikes me. Fred Noonan.
