Rumors are floating around that despite the fact this is only Jon Embree's second season, the program has regressed so much he might not be back. Some folks on the MWC board say they don't have the money to buy him out. However, our very own fowl claims he has contacts within that program and knows that isn't the case. Whether Embree is back or not, there's no doubt he's in trouble. Here's CU list of verbals: colorado.rivals.com/default.asp?SR=RivalsFPNote how many are from California and that the majority of those are from SoCal, including a couple we've offered. IIRC, we've still got a couple of schollies left . . .

BTW, Dan Hawkins got himself canned by going an average of 4-8 per season. Embree finished 3-10 last year and is 1-8 this season with just a one-point win over miserable WSU, OOC losses to terrible CSU and FCS Sac State, and a 4-game Pac-12 losing streak during which his team has been outscored 219-37.

Yet....they have 12 commits of which 11 are 3-star guys........pretty damn good for a floundering program....shows the drawing power of the PAC 12.

Also shows the recruiting ability of Eric Bienemy, who was a complete stud at UCLA under Dorrell when he had more going for him.

Maybe they need 5 years like Chuck Long did? Oldie Out Sure. And by the looks of it, they're improving the team just as gradually as Chuck did. Speaking of which, Mike Bohn is now the AD and you know he's aware of how much it helped SDSU to give UpChuck a third year.

I think it was because the Colorado Football Team was so bad that the Propositon was Approved for the use of Recreational Marijuana in the State of Colorado!

Like I said on the MW board, he is gone barring any unforseen last minute changes. I have a friend in the know there and I don't want to out them on a public board or else I would state who it is.
Embree was loathed by the admin there when he was a player, got into very serious trouble several times, had terrible grades, and barely graduated only because of some "help". It was a complete shock to a lot of people there when they hired him.

Embree was left with an empty cupboard as far as talent is concerned. The roster was $#!+. I have watched them play a few times this season and they are getting blown out because they simply to not have the players to compete in the Pac-12. They are a step slower and weaker than every Pac-12 team. It looks like the players just do not want to be on the field sometimes, but it takes time to reshape a program. They have had to played a bunch of Frosh and Sophomores because of the lack of talent. I think he get 2 more years and if there is no improvement, he is gone. It is so crazy how a program with the tradition of CU could fall off so much.

Stop with the talent crap... They have way more talent than Sac State and FSU and on par with at least half the PAC-12.
The guy flat out sucks.
