Great article, but it mentions that he is an only child? I though I read somewhere that he has a 1/2 younger brother?

Surprised to hear that he was so dissatisfied with his first year that he considered leaving.

"...Franklin was still disenchanted enough to ask his mom about putting his name in for the NBA Draft..."
glad mom talked some sense in to him... he would have had the same success i would have in last year's draft.

She sounds like a mother Delonte West could not sleep with if him and Jamaal end up future teammates. Unlike LeBron's. :-)

I read it like 5 times trying to figure out what to say, or what it means and who should feel disrespected? lol On the other hand, just what if Jamaal had decided to bolt and became an All American somewhere else? That would have sucked. Glad he was able to build some good relationships that made him stay put.

He wasn't even seeing the floor with SDSU but thought he may be ready for the NBA. He and Fisher both ultimately figured it out. I am sure he may have decided differently if he wasn't on such an incredible team with 3 losses all year. It also sounds like his mom has some good common sense.

I think he knew what type of Soph year he was going to have, he also knew he could have possibly helped SDSU win a Championship if he was given the opportunity. When you have a team with so many veterans, you'd have to be a fundamentally polished freshman to come in and play right away. Jamaal wasn't close to being polished. He was an elite scorer but raw in every other category.

Great article. It's been awesome seeing Jamaal grow up right in front of our own eyes. I thought it was interesting that he deleted his Facebook because it shows that he means business. I can't wait to see what he and the other Aztecs do this year. I believe!

Thanks for the fyi
I sense that JF is growing up. Seeing these guys with great talent and rough backgrounds... grow up and become men ...not just ball players is very very encouraging.
Keep up the great work Fisher!
