Why wasn't Escobar involved in more plays? Our running game was very predictable too. It typically involves running to the left and to the right. After that there is a misdirection handoff to Ezell Ruffing. His playbook is almost an exact copy of Madden Football for Xbox360. Below are a few OC that Rocky should consider bringing in.
1. Steve Fairchild 2. Tom Craft

Holy cow will the bitching and moaning ever end? Yes, but we'll probably be long dead by then...

although he is a troll, i kind of agree with him. look at what U-Dub did with Seferian-Jenkins, why couldn't we do that with Escobar?
He needs more variety, and he needs to get the ball in his playmakers hands. More quick passes are needed IMO

That should be expected and was expected by the handful of knowledgable fans on this board. These kids need time to gel in real game action. If you knew anything about football you would have also been encouraged by the progression of the offense throughout the game. By the 4th quarter Katz was trusting his offensive line more and actually making some downfield throws while going through his progressions. So in laymans terms for those of you who clearly don't know how this game works, take the first game as a project, from quarter 1 to quarter 4 did the team show progress? The answer is yes. So stop trying to arm chair QB/Coach/douchenozzle like the rest of the trolls in here after one MFing game. Gah, IDIOTS!!!!

From what I could see they tried pretty hard to blanket him & take him "out of the O". In general the passing game looked like it wasn't running on all cylinders. JMO

Washington scouted our offensive weapons and executed well. So, it stalled our offense and Ludwig had to go to the ground or Katz had to tuck and run. The running game did better as a result. Also, because of our newbie o-line breakdowns, play actions and screens didn't go very well. Washington had a lot of speed and aggression on defense, I give them that. Ball control to set up passes to the flat, quick outs (or wheel routes) were pretty much working for us.

Or why Cal let him walk without hesitation? Or why Utah fans were celebrating his departure? You know, since you know so much about football. It's college football where players are constantly being replaced. What does this guy need, four year starters at every offensive position? ..Sent from my Samsung GS3..

It's college football where players are constantly being replaced. What does this guy need, four year starters at every offensive position? ..Sent from my Samsung GS3.. Your joking right? Ugh ok let's breakdown every fact void part of your ridiculous post lath. 1. Pretty sure ludwig doesn't need an excuse for last year. Our offense was fine from a play calling standpoint. We had weak receiving corp due to injuries led by a CB and a walk on and they did pretty good all things considered. Our kicker lost us at least 2 games which is also out of his hands. So if you'd like to expand upon your complaints from his performance last year I'm dying to hear that worthless drivel. 2. OC's get shuffled around college football like whoores in a frat party. Considering the reasons they usually leave for, how many do you think leave their current situation with adoring fans wishing them well on their way? 3. Your last point is in clear contradiction to what I already said. One game is what I clearly stated so why would you post something that insinuates that I think it should take a year? I'll wait for an answer on this last one.

Offensive Coordinators are usually the first people that get attacked by casual fans that don't know any better. It's always been that way, and always will be. Al Borges was attacked mercilessly a few years ago by this same board. I'm sure the Michigan fans are doing the same right now after the Alabama debacle.

Fairchild's offense was gawd awful his final three years at CSU. And Craft consistently had one of the worst yardage to points ratios in the NCAA since his Air Craft offense had no power running game and was therefore awful in the red zone. Andy Ludwig may be erratic game to game, but he's a much better OC than either of those two. In fact, Ludwig's coaching in Utah's Orange Bowl victory over Alabama was masterful.
