espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology/_/year/2013UCLA a #1 seed, Syracuse a #2 seed, UNLV a #5 seed and us as an #8 seed? Really? Well, Lunardi says he doesn't like us much anymore. One problem with his bracket projections: I don't think the committee would match us up with UCLA in the 2nd round.

I don't even think we were on the bracket this time last year and we ended up with a 6 seed.
This is just fodder for the readership during the dead period.
It would be interesting if someone found his bracket from last August and compared it to the one the committee put together at the end of the regular season.

LOL @ the Rebs being seeded higher after another early MWC tourney exit.

LOL @ the Rebs being seeded higher after another early MWC tourney exit. UNLV will be a very good team this year, possibly top 10 at some point.

Joe Lunardi needs a hobby. golf?? IMO UNLV will be higher than a 5 seed. I don't get his rational either, we got a 6 seed last year and we got better as far as talent and we get an "8 seed"

UCLA a 1 seed? Man they have huge expectations!! That makes our win in December that much better! Hoops season can't come fast enough

Yeah I don't understand how we can be this underrated. We have our top 6 best players back from last years team that was top 25 damn near all year long, plus 3 D1 transfers and a very good recruiting class.
Boggles my mind.

So like everyone else guessing seems to be his off season way of picking teams. espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology/_/year/2012/iteration/0

Just realized this was already posted. UCLA being projected #1 just goes to show you how much hype can do for you. There is no way to project competitiveness and chemistry. The Aztecs have a close knit group, and they play as hard as any team in the country. If they can match UCLA on the boards, UCLA will have to go small to match the Aztecs in the transition game. It'll be a great game. Can't wait!

At least in hoops we have a chance to beat UCLA :-)

UCLA will be pumped to play this game. They just don't have anyone that can stop us in transition. Josh Smith and the Wear twins are too slow. We have horses!

We have 4 teams we play, "seeded" ahead of us and New Mexico at #11 along with Colorado State and Nevada listed in the first four out. That's 7 teams and 11 games against very good opposition. That doesn't include Ole Miss who's also listed in the first four out and a probable tournament foe in the Diamond Head Classic. If we beat the teams listed ahead of us, we'll move up. If we don't we didn't deserve it any way. It's all in our hands.

Push the ball and make UCLA play fast. X, Chase, Jamaal, O'Brien, Stephens...then you still have Rahon, Polee, Shrigley and Shepard on the bench. If need be you can go to Spencer for some added size. Track meet all day. UCLA can try to go small but our guards are just too much. Kyle Anderson is slow as piss, he's just 6'9.

Not that this bracketology would be realistic. But I would LOVE to play Saint Marys in the first round in San Jose. My mouth would water. I hate that school. Plus with a chance to play UCLA in the 2nd round. Need a change of pants.
