Free agent forward Malcolm Thomas is close to signing a contract, however we don't know if it will be with a team in the NBA or overseas.
"He's close to a deal right now," agent Aaron Mintz told RealGM.com. "There are a few different options."
Thomas played for the Chicago Bulls during the Las Vegas Summer League, however they have no room to sign him. Thomas, who was with the San Antonio Spurs for a few games last season, is likely going to play overseas during 2012-13.

Bummer that he kicked arse in D League and Summer League and won't get a chance to make the show this coming season.

it's looking like overseas That just plain-old sucks. I thought he'd get a ride in the NBA - not an easy ride, but I thought he'd make it.

I believe his first year in Turkey, Marcus made just above what the NBA minimum was at the time, around $450k Malcolm has a family to support. Hope he gets a million dollar deal like Marcus had. Did Marcus get a $1 million deal? I thought it was around $250k.

Playing pro ball overseas ain't bad. From what I've heard from someone whose kid plays overseas, they get everything provided - car, housing, phone, etc. - the salary is just plain ol' spending money.
As much as I'd love to see Malcolm in the NBA, I'm glad to see him gettin' paid somewhere.

Bin laden's boss...or, how do you spell the dude from the South Side of Chicargo's name? Is it with a, "B"? Or, is it with an, "S"? "B"? Or, "S"? "B., S.?" B.S. seems to fit the dude who smokes but okay this is offtopic. Let's fix it not like the dude who cannot ever fix the economy and create one sustainable job...[/s] I'm just saying that although Thomas gets a million dollar wage, he really only sees much less than half of it. About 60% goes to the government in taxes. HAM Tax/th PL DL

I lurk here and on other sports sites to avoid not just reality-impaired, hyper-partisan clown monkeys, but to avoid politics in general. Because sports are by nature, you know, apolitical. In this regard, you sir, have accomplished what I believe the early Conquistadors referred to as the rare and elusive "Falla Doble." I know I'm kind of a noob here, but for the love of God, if you want to spill your milkshake while spilling your nonsense, is it too much to ask that you please do so in a forum that is dedicated to something other than sports? I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

I know, huh? I'm not voting for the guy whose father was born in Kenya, i'm voting for the guy whose father was born in Mexico because his family fled the United States so they could be polygamists

That individual appears to be very damaged. Some of the things she/he posts in the political forum seem's very incoherent. Hopefully this individual has people who care for his/her mental wellness.
