$10 M would nice. But a whole day of exposure adds some extra!

NBC is the "wild card" in all of these tv deals. If they step up and get the contract for the FBS playoff games and then get the BEast contract, the BEast could be an accidental beneficiary with a humongous windfall.

UNLV isn't going to stand for this at all.

If the Padres sold for 800 million BEFB has to be worth that much.

Agree and always have, but that wasn't one of the poll options. For the purposes of this poll I chose 6-7. Hopefully NBC execs see more value in Temple and UCF football than I do. They'll be good as long as they do not forget the jello

I'm assuming "The current deal is worth $4 million to each of the football schools" is between ESPN and the BE. If so, I find it a little disconcerting that ESPN is paying such a paltry amount to BE schools. Given pending membership changes in the BE and ESPN's access to elite conferences, I wonder how committed they'll be to retain access to BE games. We'll see. That said, I guess we'll see how "desperate" NBC is for sports inventory by what they're ultimately willing to pay for BE football. I will acknowledge that $10 million a year to Aztec football would definitely be a game changer, (for most). As the saying goes, you're only worth what someone is willing to pay you.

I have enjoyed your schtick so much that I have registered on the BYU board as retiredcougar and on the choo choo board as retiredaggie. "What till they get a load of me." Going to be priceless and thanks for the inspiration.

They are just like us - Philly, Orlando, San Diego are all big cities that have been split in various directions, get them to focus on the team in their backyard, and you've made your money. Comcast leveraged being a cable monopoly and broadcasting sports to be able to buy out NBC and Universal and they said they bought them almost solely for their cable properties - they'd didn't build that empire and didn't conquer another to show skateboarding on saturdays on the Peacock and reruns on cable. Everyone else is locked in and there is the big east with eventually 14 teams in big cities spanning the continent and a score of high level bball. We'll get paid, if we can get to the ACC pay level (they make 12ish all sports for the next half dozen years+), we'll thrive

Actually, I just wanted to note, looking for TV noise as I continue working on my computer, (between these breaks), I'm watching the New Orleans Bowl on ESPNU. It was a good game. And yet another pivotal game for the Aztecs down the shitter...

That game was like the pivot on my follow through - sure when I do it better it gets a couple more yards and/or I feel better about myself when I'm up on the balls of my feet; and when I do it well and I still slice it just means a sharper slice - but low level bowl games don't mean a damn thing. There were other games that were much more like Archimedes setting a pivot that went down the shitter the last two years than that game
