Said it before and I'll say it again, UDub is just a couple steps shy of being able to slug it out with any and all comers on a week in, week out basis. No surprise they are already at the brink of the Top 25. That's a rough opener for us. Agreed. They are bringing in some top talent and Sark has put together an amazing staff. Recruiting is really starting to take off for the Dawgs. They've BEEN recruiting well, Sark is an awful coach though. Whoever gets that job at the end of this year or next year is going to have a heck of a team.

It's really not that difficult to understand. Washington's national recruiting ranking (according to Scout, since some seem to eschew Rivals) in 2010, 2011 and 2012 was 11th, 22nd and 22nd. Ours? In the 70's to 90's, depending on the source.

They've BEEN recruiting well, Sark is an awful coach though. Whoever gets that job at the end of this year or next year is going to have a heck of a team. For sure, the past few cycles they have had some very talented players coming in and a majority of the highly rated recruits have panned out very well. I am not sure I agree with you on Sark though. The head coach is like the CEO, the face of the program. They delegate and manage. He has an All-Star staff in place for this season and beyond. The coaching staff determines the success of a program because they are the ones doing the actual teaching. A head coach is only as good as his staff. Sark may have assembled one of the best on the West Coast, if not the country. I guess we will see exactly how good this season.

"We don't get no respect, you kiddin'!" Two of the teams in the "Others receiving votes" catagory had losing seasons in '11, and, of course, we don't get mentioned! We were picked to finish 5th in the MWC. Did you honestly expect to receive any attention in the preseason top 25? C'mon Man! Word. We won't get any respect until we starting winning games we're "expected" to lose. Washington would be a good start.

Disagree that the head coach is just a CEO and that his coordinators are responsible for the success of the team. It remains to be seen if his all-star cast can coach defense. UW should be the favorite but as long as we can run the football, we'll be alright.

SDSU isn't going to beat Washington. Next... That's true. But most people can't handle the truth. I think I heard that somewhere. Hmm.

No, as a few weeks back Price was on KJR when asked about the LSU game, he instead talked about SDSU and how the team doesn't want to start slow again like last year against Eastern. He said the team is focused on SDSU.

I was going to post the same thing. Well, we would have to have gone 10-3 or 11-2 last year to get any points in '12, I guess. We need to win 8 at a minimum to get some respect in '13. That would make us 8 or more wins and bowl games three years in a row. AzWm We shouldn't get any respect if all we can win is 8 against this cream puff schedule.

Checking Washington's record, I'm more impressed with Sarkisian than I was before. In games decided by a FG or less, he's 6-1. That's impressive even if one of those games was last year's opener against a school which stole Boise's idea and painted its playing field bright red.
Edit: Other facts re Sarkisian.
Road record: 4-12 Home record: 13-6 Neutral field record: 1-2 OOC record: 5-6 ATS: 20-18 ATS as home fave: 6-4 ATS vs. OOC: 6-5
