Does any know if the Aztecs will be on TV against North Dakota, San Jose State, Colorado State and/or UNLV?
Can't wait for the season to start!!

There is a good chance that those 4 games would be picked up by a combination of FS San Diego and Cox 4. The MWC and SDSU are still trying to work things out to determine kickoff times for TV.

Cox channel 4 is a big supporter of Aztec sports. Here's hoping they pick up those games!

foxSD is better for out of towners and they are far more likely to be around long term than ch4 so it'd be nice to develop a relationship (and Fox has rights to two of the big conferences around us, so it never hurts to be in their good graces even if just for scheduling)
Sterk said every game will be televised, so until we hear otherwise, expect them to be on the air.

I admit to not knowing what FS is. As for Cox4, that will do no good whatsoever for those of us who live way up here in North County (Fallbrook in my case). Many of us bitched and moaned about The Mountain, but at least you could see most of the games. I have three season tickets but like to have videos of as many games as possible. (Also, I will not be able to attend the CSU game.) I'm also worried that we won't get to see a lot of basketball games, either. AzWm

FS San Diego would have the broadest appeal I think

I think Ch 4 couldn't show games in north county because of the MTN. If they show the games, I'd guess north county would see them. Anyone outside of the SD area wouldn't have as much luck.

I think Ch 4 couldn't show games in north county because of the MTN. Ch4 is a Cox product, and most of North County is covered by Time Warner. However, I'm in Poway/RB and Ch4, and just like with all Cox customers, Ch4 simultaneously broadcasts games carried* on the Mtn. *Games aren't really so much "carried" by the Mtn as they are "dragged" into obscurity and a vacuum of viewership.

Any chance some of those 5pm games get pushed back? We don't want the start of our home games "pushed back" to 10:00 p.m. eastern time! 5:00 is perfect.

This is the West and for my own selfish reason it would help that some of these 5pm games are pushed back at least an hour. Its all about what's convenient for the program tho.

How would it help to be pushed back from 5? 5 is fine.

Actually I was wrong. I still wish they would push back the CSU game but everything else is fine.

I did not make myself clear. Where I live (though this is not true of all Fallbrook), I can't get ANY cable. We have used various satellite services during the 19 years we have lived here. I changed from Dish to DirecTV because the former would not carry The Mountain. There are a lot of rural areas in the same boat, I'm sure. It's satellite or nothing. Last year it was possible to see almost all Aztec FB games on TV; looks like we have taken a big step backward as things stand now. AzWm

AzWm AzWm that crummy golf course SLR Downs has a bar with 19 tv sets and has cox cable. I go there for the NFL on Sunday cause they have NFL package/Direct tv as well. Not the nicest sports bar, but an easy drive home. Yeah, I know it's Bonsall. Or you could come to my house just bring some beer, it is also Bonsall.

**Thread Back from the Dead 8/16**
I don’t know about you all but I’m starting to get a little worried about this.
We’ve known for about a month that Time Warner has purchased some, if not all, of the broadcasting rights for the football games that were not carried by the MWC’s national TV deal.
In my observation, when those TV rights are purchased, SDSU usually sends out a spiffy press release at least announcing that all games will be televised, they’re happy to partner with [fill in the blank] broadcaster, etc, etc.
I hope the delay is because SDSU is working with the MWC and TW to figure out how to maximize the coverage and figure out a way to get the games on Cox, satellite, and AT&T. My fear is that TW is dead set on the exclusivity and SDSU is desperate to figure something out before the season starts.
What is even scarier is now that the MBB conf. TV schedule has been released, I really hope someone other than Time Warner will come in and buy the rights to the non-televised home games. If the same thing ends up happening, this could be a real setback going into very important seasons for both programs and the athletic department in general.
Also, I think this is a glimpse at how “committed” Fox Sports San Diego is to SDSU football. IMO, given what they paid for the Padres, they could have easily paid more than whatever Time Warner gave the MWC for our games. OTOH, they probably balked at the football rights because they probably didn’t want to overpay for FB rights that, given our move to the Big East, would only last for a year. They also would have only had clear broadcast windows for 4 of the 6 untelevised games. I know there are still carriage issues with FSSD and TW, but I do hope that Fox comes in and makes a run at some of the MBB games. At least that would make the MBB games available to Cox and satellite customers. The satellite issue is important because most bars are on satellite.
Ugh.
