I like the commitment to continue pulling in strong, athletic OL. Sending a message to all the big time skill position players in 13-14-15 classes that we plan to step into the BEAST and not get pushed around. Getting manhandled by Michigan last year was telling where we were linemen-wise. Seeing Embernasty getting pushed around didn't look good. We must win the battle in the trenches. Oldie Out

Only 3/8 commits are from California. I ain't mad at that. BE TV money means we don't have to concern ourselves so much with state-subsidized scholarships. Just bring in the best kids we can get regardless.

Yeah, we usually import our players since top D1 recruits in our backyard want to leave. Now we have a larger area to play with because of the BE.

I like how we're going big. We only have 1 commit under 6'3" so far and that is our 6'1" bruiser RB, Stamps.

He wasn't 100% throughout the season. If he's fully recovered, he'll be on a personal mission to redeem himself.

It's being reported (Augustin ASR) that Billy Vaughn Jr. and Delvin Batiste have committed.

Seems like OL and the secondary is just about covered then (maybe one more commit for each of the 2 areas) this recruiting period. Time to see who the Aztecs could get for LBs (Palma, Riley, Van Hook, the Latu twins, etc) and DEs (Bruno, Ricks, Jackson, etc). I'm still hoping for RB Donnel Pumphrey to commit too.

I blink and we're almost at our full class (any thoughts on us considerably over-signing?). Is it good we're nearly at the actual, non grey-shirt, run-off, attrition limit, i.e. did we get the players and positions we were going after, etc. In short, you guys follow this nonsense so I don't have to.

It's good that we're up against the limit IMHO because it allows us to put pressure on kids in recruiting and in coaching, ie $#!+ or get off the pot. We need some more LBs for future depth but other than that they've done a pretty solid job of evening out the roster to get us in line with proper numbers at each position in each class.

I think we all have a good handle on what type of players Rocky & Co. recruits. Versatility, production and leadership are the keys. RBs are the best athletes that you can turn into DBs, LBs or WRs, TEs and linemen must play both sides of the ball, DEs can grow into fleet footed DTs, etc.
